Multiple sources are stating Nintendo Switch 2 Reveal is on January 16th

My fear is that any differentiating factor shown in a reveal trailer will be gimmick-like.

Nintendo is still a company that feels like it needs to show off a gimmick regardless of it adding any benefit or having any actual demand...

Luckily, on Switch 1, it was either useful (switching) or just benign either way (HD rumble). Of course, that could change.

One thing I actually liked about it, is that it didn't have any cameras or microphones. I already know that's gonna change which is fine, but it'll be worse if it's just to make some gimmicky features I never wanted work.

Any rumors about a boost mode for Switch 1 games? If it does, then it's a day one purchase for me. Otherwise gonna wait a year or two after some heavy-hitters have released.

Just had to share this absolute gem from the purple forum this morning:

What is the point of this device since Steam Deck, ROG ALLY other handhelds are out?
is it for diehard nintendo fans who want to play the same games, restricted to one platform with worse controls and performance?

There will be a crack and emulation out within a year of it being out.
To play excellent Nintendo exclusives legally.

It's not going to happen this week. Main reason will be that Nintendo doesn't want people to think that the leaks (regarding a Direct) are true. They probably postponed it. They want people to think that they control the narrative instead of the other way around.

Smart thinking and I told everyone multiple times but nobody here listened.

That actually makes a lot of sense to me.

Ngl, it would be pretty weird if they didn't somehow "boost" old Switch games. This is such a low-hanging fruit of a feature that they actually would need to go out of their way to not do it, since the Switch 2 hardware, at least according the leaks, looks like an evolutionary step of the first Switch.

Edit: On the other hand, it's Nintendo. So who the fuck knows.

Good luck wasting your precious time in life F5ing to see an announcement of a reveal.
I have fun doing so, while chatting it up on this forum. Why do you care anyway?
And by the way, they're not postponing shit, especially not because of some random people pulling dates out of their asses.

Yeah but now that the postponement has leaked, if Nintendo postpones it, that will just prove that the leak of the original reveal plus the leak of the postponement were both true and Nintendo's leak problem is twice as bad.

How do you know? The chances of them revealing anything this week seem as small as the average US dick.

I don't think a multibillion worldwide company just look at videogames forum/tweet and takes decisions right after.
