Hi Board game GAF! First of all, amazingly lovely new OT. Nicely done.
I just had a question, well, looking for suggestions really. I was always in to board games as a young kid, and eventually... just sort of lost the group of kids and people that played them with me. I also shifted to video games more back then.
Anyway, I have recently been having a lot of fun introducing my daughter (almost 11 now) to some newer board games. She of course played plenty of the classics when she was even younger. Sorry, Life, Sorry Sliders, Candyland, we have a handful of old games around. Even this one... but now that she is a bit older she has her own tastes. We have, in the last year or so, had a lot of fun with King of Tokyo (she loves the art style, and loves anything slightly anime in appearance), Forbidden Island, and Hanabi. Most recently we spend our time with Marvel Dice Masters as I lucked out with a base set.
We also play with her mother, but that is less often as we haven't found a game that she likes enough to draw her in (she doesn't love cutthroat games as much as commerce or cooperative games). So ideally if suggestions are great for 2 players, but ok for 3 that would be best. If not, 2 players is just fine.
Sorry for the ramble, just hoping for some feedback!
Some that I am leaning towards/seem interesting:
Tanto Cuore (she saw this last night at our local boardgame shop and instantly was drawn to the characters/style of course, just not sure how fun it would be for her?)
Steam Park
Machi Koro
Seasons
Forbidden Desert (though obviously not going to be as fun if all 3 of us aren't playing...)
I have been watching Doomtown: Reloaded as well...
