Tectoy, a renowned company in the Brazilian games market, is facing a major challenge with sales of its latest console, the Zeenix. According to information verified by YouTuber Maddrugamers, less than 100 Zeenix units have been sold so far. For a company with Tectoy's reputation and experience, this figure is considered quite low.

Poor market performance

The recently launched Zeenix has not managed to conquer the market as expected. Unlike its predecessors, which have always enjoyed strong acceptance among Brazilian consumers, Zeenix seems to have faced significant difficulties in achieving significant sales. Experts point to the high price and lack of adequate marketing, as well as the intense competition with other Chinese portable consoles on the market, which may have contributed to the disappointing performance.
Reactions from the Gamer Community

The Brazilian gamer community is quite surprised by these figures. Many Tectoy fans expected Zeenix to have a better reception and lower prices, given the company's history of success in bringing innovations and nostalgic products to the public. Zeenix's low sales raise questions about Tectoy's strategy for this particular launch and how the company plans to reverse this situation.

Possible causes and solutions

Among the possible causes for the low sales of Zeenix are the lack of effective promotion and, above all, the high price for the product being delivered. In addition, Tectoy may be facing internal challenges related to the design and functionalities offered by Zeenix, which may not have met consumer expectations.

  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2

How much was it? It’s using older tech. Couple that with current economic issues and seeming lack of marketing…. Phil fails at Xbox once again. 😉

Isn't this the company that sold Mega Drive in Brazil for like, 30 years? In the slow-mo version of Sega's arc, they're getting to the interesting part.

I cry about Xbox and hate PlayStation.

Not exactly a ‘console’. They’ve rebadged Chinese PC handheld the Ayn Loki, and it’s a regular PC handheld like the Ally and Steamdeck.

No point buying something like this when you can pick up a Deck
