Wow.

And to think this thread will likely have a quarter of the posts of a thread with a 4 second snippet of Heavenly Sword.

Place holder is May right now. There is no official date yet, but I have a pretty good feeling it will be soon enough.
I guess it would depend on when Forza 2 is coming out. Ideally you want Forza 2 to come out in May and Mass Effect to come out in June. Bioshock comes out in July and other blockbuster titles to follow until the end of the year.

It's obvious the game looks great in shots but how does it run.
That remains a concern. The previous demos were all very choppy.

Epic managed to pull off a very smooth framerate with Gears, but then again, they created UE3. Bioware's XBOX games all suffered from serious framerate and loading issues, so I have little faith in their latest effort. We'll see, though.

The 360 is beast

Oh mass effect....i want a piece of that ass.

We will see tomorrow or something, but bioware recruted alot of new people to work on the Tech side, they say they've improved quite alot in those regards.

isnt this supposed to be a FPS/RPG? I want to see how it looks when you are playing.

Not FPS, more like a third person cross between Gears of War and KOTOR. The squad combat is probably where framerate issues will really crop up.

I'm not surprised that these screens are impressive, now let's see how looks in motion. In every video I've seen of this game in action, the movement has been robotic at best, and it really clashes with the realistic properties of just about everything else.

That lizard is nice though. Looks... lizardy.

I don't care much for the lizards and robots etc., but the player/NPC models, geometry and landscapes in Mass Effect shots are what get me every single time.

So sexy!

That's not completely fair...

The combat animation has been robotic and choppy in each presentation thus far, but the dialog animation is among the best I've seen.

Do you choose to attack an enemy and the game takes over or do you pull the trigger/aim for each shot?

I really like the main characters armour, looks like it could of been in the 1st star wars movies.

Pull the trigger and aim yourself, almost like an action game with heavy tactical elements for directing the squad (from a paused screen like KotOR). At least, from what I've seen.

But I'm not expecting a steady frame-rate...it's Bioware afterall. :p

It's actually pretty decent, from what I saw, but you shouldn't expect a locked 30 fps.

it's good that there are jaggies at this stage for two reasons.

first of all, the game looks dang awesome even though there are jaggies.

secondly, they show us that these aren't bullshots.

who cares which is more powerful between the 360 and the ps3 when the 360 can do this and the ps3 can do LAIR?

everybody wins. multiplatform owners win most :)

QFT.

i can't imagine not being multi-plat last-gen and this gen has already show an absurd number of reasons why multi-plat is the way to go. if you are a gamer and can afford it you OWE yourself the beauty of choice. lol....choice.

Amazing.

Bioware creates great games, so I'm really glad that we're seeing this one on the 360. If it were coming out on the PS3 I think I'd have to buy the system for it.

Graphically, if the game pulls through with this level of graphics consistently, I think we're seeing a game that surpasses Gears of War. The lighting is definitely better judging by these shots. It's apparent they're using a different lighting system than Gears (it looks like per light additive lighting instead of just modulative darkening shadows like Gears). It also appears to me that they're setting up the lighting similar to what's done in movies and photography, with a key light, fill light, and back light. I noticed something similar in Jade Empire, their last game, but obviously it's being done much better here.

Anyhow, looks great, can't wait to read Luke's preview.

Oh my god, that looks so awesome. Wow, Mass Effect looks better each time I see it. I can't freaking wait to play this.

Release date, pls.

Does that include stilty animation, or has that also been improved? Bah, I guess I'll have to read the piece.

I would guess that shitty (or stilty - whatever that is) animations would be a major quibble.
