No, really not. GTS is a good looking game and the lighting and shaders are amazing but Forza Horizon 4 is on a different level. You can take GTS, FM7, PC2, DC and AC and lets put them against Forza Horizon 4 and they will all lose against it. The tech and level of detail is unmatched in Forza Horizon 4. The lighting is on par with GTS and even better with 24h tod and 4 seasons. The textures, car model, reflections, sky, draw distance, effects, dynamic lighting, motion blur, shadows and environments are much much higher quality than GTS. And video's dont change the way a game looks, yes it can add motion blur but thats it. The pure raw graphics in Forza Horizon 4 is just too much for those other racers. That is just your opinion, to me GTS looks way more natural and realistic thanks to his lighting, material shaders and the way how they reflect the light . FH maybe it can look better on a static image thanks to the more sharper image since it is running on a more powerful hardware (on xbox one x it is locked to 30fps at 4k mode) but that's it
FH4 gameplay looks even better in motion thanks to HQ motion blur, HQ realtime reflections, dynamic ToD, skyboxes, traffic, particles, weather.FH maybe it can look better on a static image thanks to the more sharper image since it is running on a more powerful hardware (on xbox one x it is locked to 30fps at 4k mode) but that's it
FH4 can't touch GTS on lighting and shaders lol, even Driveclub has superior lighting and photorealism let alone GTSNo, really not. On FH4 the reflections in cockpit view are only a series of sequential images printed on the bodywork, they do not even seem to be related to the surrounding environmentFH4 gameplay looks even better in motion thanks to HQ motion blur, HQ realtime reflections, dynamic ToD, skyboxes, traffic, particles, weather.
GTS gameplay looks worse in motion because of temporal aa/checkerboard. lack of MB(in highres mode), bad and primitive reflections, static picture of clouds(you even can see the compression), lack of volumetric lighting and more. And the worst thing -you can even notice baked AO in cockpit view.
FH4 can't touch GTS on lighting and shaders lol, even Driveclub has superior lighting and photorealism let alone GTS
No its in 4k mode im 100% sure just checked it, just look
The 4k image is much sharper but weirdly enough the logo is almost the same. I wanna do a test, can you upload this car and track with the same lighting please, but the full image so i can compare the image quality outside the logo. Maybe its a bug with the logo i don't know.
Laguna seca 7:30 with the Ford GT, just choose race mode with 2 cars and select normal start instead of rolling start. Then you will be at the exact same place, and don't move please pull the handbrake. this is just to compare the image quality between my shot and yours. And yes i know it looks better with TAA when you move i understand but this is just for the image quality comparison so whe have almost 100% the same picture.
On FH4 the reflections in cockpit view are only a series of sequential images printed on the bodywork, they do not even seem to be related to the surrounding environment
Way worse than gts reflections ,embarracing for a 30fps game
Yeah it'on xbox one x in 4k mode 30fps (so we are discovering that it's not a perfect game like Turk1993 is trying to sell with pc screenshots )WTF! that looks horrible. Not like that on PC.
To me seems flat like hell, trees are the only thing that are very goodSome of my gameplay shots from my last play. This games is the benchmark right now for racing games
No game is perfect, i didn't say that its perfect in every way. I said it does alot of things really good and better than the other games. Wich is true as shown in the pictures aboveYeah it'on xbox one x in 4k mode 30fps (so we are discovering that it's not a perfect game like Turk1993 is trying to sell with pc screenshots )
Yes those are png images, they supposed to be flat on a screen. To me seems flat like hell
everything is standard, didn't touch anything.Ok, will do later, but tell me also your image settings for whites, blacks and Exposure. All this for SDR mode, of course.

That is just your opinion
Also RDR 2 or Horizon ZD are open world game but they are two of the most impressive looking games of the gen,so open wold it's not an exuse, the map like on every other game it's not renderend entirely with full detail but only where the player is present (that's why the popup also on fh4)And for open world game? I would ignore this thread, but don't shit on Forza Horizon! : D
Besides, does your GTS runs on native 1080p/2160p native resolution with MSAA on the top? It's not like that IQ is not important, people like to post small gifs, to exaggerate graphical stuff in games, but something like Driveclub looks like shit in comparison to the Forza Horizon, because IQ is bad.
Yeah sureNo, it's the opinion of most people with eyes and no agenda.

Bad Iq?Again post you some videos,no need to comment further...for the rest i leave you to your fanboy immaginations
As for Driveclub ,runs only on base ps4, but still has more impressive tech than fh4 like self reflections and volumetric clouds, while on fh4 you have just a loop of static images to make it look like the clouds are moving
On fh4 you can notice that the clowds are jerky because they are just static images
Also particle effects on driveclub are way better
FH4
DC
Such a high resolution texture, if you want to say, that it's due to DoF than it's very poorly implemented. It looks really bad. Besides, weather efects are nice, but they are definitely not part of the IQ : ) GTS in your example looks really blocky (aside from the car, which is excellent), but it's 60FPS and it running shitload physical simulations, so I'll give you that. I have no experience (or very very limited) with both F5-7 and GTS. I only played F7 demo on OG Xbox. I was talking about FH.What?
That is bokeh effect what you are you talking about...Such a high resolution texture, if you want to say, that it's due to DoF than it's very poorly implemented. It looks really bad. That geometry of the surroundings looks really simplistic. And bokeh is just type of the DoF. I see that is not simple Gaussian Blur. That is bokeh effect what you are you talking about...
"GTS in your example looks really blocky"
what the hell does that mean?
What, are you serious? That's how basically Tokyo expressway looks also in real life, buildings have also interiors on gts,That geometry of the surroundings looks really simplistic. And bokeh is just type of the DoF. I see that is not simple Gaussian Blur.
Maybe because of the jpg imagesYep, it seems for some reason GTS blurs your HUD like in 1080p mode, but the rest look the same.
That image is a png.Maybe because of the jpg images

Yeah true, but the Audi photos were in jpgThat image is a png.
Driveclub just doesn't look that great without the rain
I still think Driveclub looks the best. The lighting is so realisticYou are not crazy, Forza Horizon 4 is the best looking racing game this gen.
30 fpsI still think Driveclub looks the best. The lighting is so realistic
So is FH4 on base console and that came years later. Unfortunately we didn't get to witness a Driveclub pro patch.30 fps
Honestly how one can say this isn't the top of the top when it comes to lighting and material shaders (yeah reflections on roof view are pixelated, but like i said it's a freacking 60fps game that is running in 1800p on a 4tf machine that in the same time has to render real time shdows,3d crowds,3d trees where every leaf cast shadows ecc.,more complex physics etc.)
Fingers crossed PS5 can remedy that in some way.So is FH4 on base console and that came years later. Unfortunately we didn't get to witness a Driveclub pro patch.
You couldn't cherrypick any worse flat lighting conditions too...
It's true that Driveclub has problems with aliasing but come on, man... and even with that cherrypicked flat lighting those trees, shrubs and grass look great.
Is it really cherrypicking when this is just the way the game looks without the preferred time of day and rain particles covering up the screen? Sounds like you'd have to be cherrypicking to make it look good..
So I guess that ALL your images not having ANY shadows is "coincidence"... sure.

Oh man, you can clearly see its aged pretty badly, especially during the bright sunny days, it's barely held together by all that motion blur.
It all falls apart once you stop moving.
Again, all static shots with cherrypicked flat lighting... videos show how real gameplay is and feels in motion.
Going cherrypicking, even Forza Horizon 4 can look like ass, and it is not a 2014 base PS4 game...
This is PC Ultra 4K 8xMSAA:
but it is representative or graphics on the game though so it aint a lie, at moments the game looks amazing and other it looks awfulYou couldn't cherrypick any worse flat lighting conditions too...

It has a great sense of speed30 fps
