Nintendo Classic Mini - NES Coming on November 11th (30 NES games)

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.
My initial reaction is BUY BUY BUY, but I'm really fucking sick of most of those games. I'll probably still get one, but this'll really be a treat for people who haven't replayed these games multiple times over the years (via VC, GBA Classics, emulation, etc).

So this will likely be a series? SNES has more than enough titles and N64 can probably still get by without Rare's games with titles like Mario 64, OOT/MM, Smash, Pokemon Snap, Mario Party 2, Star Fox 64, Kirby 64 and Sin & Punishment, which I think have all been on the Virtual Console at some point so there shouldn't be a problem. Third party will probably be super-light for N64 though.

I don't really see them going past N64 though, maybe a Game Boy Mini?

Definitely in on this. My NES is at my parents' house and a lot of my favourite games are on here. Also, this controllers look dope, as well as the packaging.

C'mon people. This is an official Nintendo product. The emulation will be more than passable. So long as it doesn't have a huge amount of lag it should be a really solid little product for the intended audience.

I agree it's going to sell quite well this holiday season.

I'm in the US. We'll see about the holiday. I don't really see kids being thrilled about opening this on Christmas morning ("...what is it?") but I could see parents getting it to play with their kids or people around my age or older picking one up to relive the NES days. We shall see.

This is actually pretty neat, solid selection of titles, when I read 30 NES titles I expected more cheap Nintendo filler like Urban Champion and less third party goodness like MM2, CV and NG.

I would assume that with what the branding is like these days, Squenix doesn't want to confuse people by bringing back the Dragon Warrior name. It already has it rough as it is.

Even thought I bought a Blinking Light Win connector for my NES, I'm so getting this. Some great games in that thing. Zelda 2, Super C, Castlevania, and Double Dragon 2 make it worth it for me.

Controller port looks like the port on the bottom of a Wiimote. I'm sure someone's already brought that up, though...(derr, the OP)

I don't think I've actually played any of these games extensively if at all. With the exception of Super Mario Bros. which was on the GBC and Lost Levels on the 3DS VC, I'm pretty sure I never... Oh, and MM 2/3- never played other NES games.

This is INCREDIBLY exciting for me, day one for sure. 60 dollars? Incredible. Excited to try many of these out!

And the box art? Ahhhhhhh!!

And classic SNES would probably kill me.

It's also awesome it'll have the original controller. I'm sure the build quality will be great!

I wonder if this means the NX will then have these Wii/Wii U controller ports on it then?

Id expect a Gameboy before Snes and N64.

I dont get the people suggesting there will be some sort of weak emulation on these like the atari and genesis third party systems.

I mean, I think its kinda obvious these are just using repurposed Wii hardware, right?

I wonder how much adding a LCD compatible zapper would have added to the cost. This feels off without Duck Hunt.

Would $70 or $80 really killed the desire for this?

First and foremost I just love the idea of an NES sitting under my Christmas tree. I don't care that much about the games itself.

Who would have thought Nintendo's strategy for these holidays would be to compete with a 30 year old console. This shit is going to sell like crazy, nostalgia is everything these days.

The various Atari plug-and-play units sold very well. The NES is the most iconic retro system with modern recognizable IPs. It'll be huge.

I used to use this NES to Gamecube adapter on my Wii for Virtual Console games. I guess that thing is pretty much useless now. Unless these new controllers suck or something.

My unrealistic dream is that this sells so well Nintendo sees the desire is there and releases their own HDMI NES.

He's making the mistake of thinking that this will be for 8 year olds instead of the 28 year olds that will be unwrapping a lot of these consoles in 5 months.
