How about pointer aiming like on Wii? That combines the best of both worlds IMO. My issue with mouse controls is that I don't want to sit hunched over my coffee table when playing video games, I want to sit back and relax.
Pointer aiming is okayish but can have stuttery motion (yes could just be me getting Parkinson’s !). But yeah mouse needs a table or a flat surface. For me would work anyway, been wishing for that for awhile.

Wheelchair basketball baby! 😆 I am curious how well everything actually functions with this one. This is one where you would have to be sitting at a table to even make this work, I think some of the mouse controls on a single joycon could be done from an arm of a couch, but not something like this.
Ya, I like the mouse controls in concept. But getting it to work in a couch gaming setup seems strange. Do I need a hardback textbook or foldout tray? 2 textbooks on both sides would work for the wheelchair game:messenger_tears_of_joy:

This wouldn't be the first time Nintendo has built an entire game around a unique mechanic and have it star a popular Nintendo character, and it won't be the last.

This isn't even a unique mechanic. So many games have done digging through terrain before this. It's new for Nintendo I guess.

But yeah, it feels like they were experimenting with terrain destruction and then thought:

"This is cool, which of our characters could dig through terrain?"

"Donkey Kong is strong right?"

"Sounds good, let's put him in!"

I don't know man, this doesn't feel like a DK game at all to me. It feels like a terrain destruction demo that they put DK in.

there is no real blueprint for a 3D DK game. there was only 1, and that one was... let's be real... trash.

and Donkey Kong has been a character they used in the past to try weird ideas with. Donkey Konga for example or DK Jungle Beat.
I feel like they also want to give DK a bit of a new identity, which is also reflected in the redesign of his character model

Yeah, but there was always a theme and aesthetic (since the first DKC at least). This feels nothing like that.

So looking at that Switch 2 Gamechat right before it ended, the mic audio sounds like what anyone would expect from a mic that's part of a console/controller.

Also, why is everything purple and other strong colors? Nothing feels like a natural environment.

Yeah, gameplay looks cool and I think I like the DK redesign more than most, but the color scheme looks hideous to me. I honestly don't understand what they were going for with this aesthetic.

I had the Treehouse on in the background for a bit, but I found the presenters so obnoxious that I ended up muting it. The woman [?] in particularly is loathsome.

It kinda reminds of this ugly kingdom from SMO:

Game just looks off in terms of lighting and art.

And people say Nintendo is not for kids! I after looking the games graphics I can now understand how they reach 4K and so many fps. Graphics are super bland.
Metroid looks boring, looks so slow and animation seems really old. Fucking Nintendo is so behind the times.

Could not finish it it’s unwatchable and boring.

So I'm just on the part with Fzero gx. So the switch 2 joycons don't have analog triggers right?
This game will be unplayable without them . You can see it in the feed that his straffing is WAAAY too sensitive and he's crashing everywhere.

It annoys me cause you're gonna have a generation of people who think GX controls like shit,

That's why you can buy a GameCube controller for it.

Wondering the same, I'll just use it on my desktop once I get a second dock some day

I might be alone but I’m loving DK’s new design, I like how expressive he is and they put so much personality.
I love the design, but hate the "fur" they put in Bananza, hell I hate all bananza art direction and the lack of animation transitions, the game is ugly as sin, but the "fur" has the crown for the ugliest thing in the game for me, they should have gone with DK:TF style shader for it because the design is great

That's not an answer to the post I made. The point I'm making is the game is unplayable without it. Most people aren't going to buy the Gamecube controller.

I see nobody really talking about this because I suspect very little people actually played this on a Gamecube.

I think people who emulated the game may not see any difference.

It's just that I see it all the time. "fzero gx is hard to control, it's too slippery" it's really not.
.......with the original hardware and controller.

Maybe its because I've gotten older, but videogame fans are the most insufferable people known to man. Whether here, or the closed head injury purple palace, same shit, over and over again.

Just can't enjoy anything.

I guess all the people in your house has the same taste in EVERYTHING, you all wear the same kind of clothes and wear the same color all the time , you all laugh at the same jokes and get upset about the same situations.
If by a miracle that doesn't happen at your house. It's evidently that people have different preferences and likes. Your kind of fun and my kind of fun are not the same, you probably are impressed and pleased easily with what was shown, I wasn't, I'm not trying to pass my opinion as the universal truth.
But, there are things that are objectively true, and that is that the graphics look bland and animation is outdated. You liked them and that is fine. I didn't due to what I mention. And Nintendo is behind the times, they are presenting game chat with a button as a novelty ffs.

It's mainly this lot tbh.

They ruined everything. I preferred it when it was just Sega & Nintendo.

I don't think that's the point K KINGMOKU is getting at. I think he is pointing out the fact that 9 times out of 10, people will watch for and list out the large amount of things they dislike, rather than list out the few things that they enjoy, even if it might be just one thing.

Both aspects are based around taste, but at least by listing out something you like about a game or showcase or whatever else, you can maybe pique someone's interest to check out something new and different. When you have a large amount of people simply naming things they don't like and then suggesting nothing in exchange, then the environment just becomes a black hole of misery.

Him replying with disdain towards your own disdain for Nintendo is a black hole effect, because it led you to complain about his disdain. It's a tit for tat that ultimately leads nowhere good.

It happens a lot online, because negativity in general has increased since the past decade and it's not just gamers (nor is it just console warriors like the post above mine is suggesting).

I understand where you are coming from and I can agree with that at certain level.
And just for the sake of not being too negative. I liked the intro of MP4, and that's about it.

This would be a great observation if the guy didn’t say he’s playing with the GameCube controller right before it starts
