For MS to sell through their 10 million shippped WW do you think they would have to sell through 5 million in the US alone or more?

US is about 50% of their market I think, but it could be slightly more.

I think US is only like 37%-40% of Sony's market...
They gave numbers in one of their conferences, but I cannot remember specifics.

Anyways, X1 should easily sell through 5M in the US I think.
They only have to sell 1340k between Nov. & Dec, which is 670k each month.

I think they will probably be around 5.4M by the end of the year in the US. so 10M WW by the end of the year is definitely possible.

Well maybe it's reverse psychology for people like you who think an early PR statement is the only way they could've won. We already know they won the first two weeks of November. All evidence points to them winning Black Friday week as well. It's been number one on Amazon ever since as well. The bigger question would be by how much they won. But, weirder things have happened and if the PS4 were to win then that would no doubt be a blow to MS.

Yeah, I think if XBONE won by any significant margin they'd be shouting it from the rafters by now.

Unless of course MS are going with humility and realise although good to win they'd do better to concentrate on the consumer instead if bragging over a single month this year that they've come out on top.

One things for certain, we're getting some cracking deals on both consoles a year in.

That's absolutely not true. The only other major market outside of NA that purchase Xbox consoles in significant quantity is the UK. No way does the UK + the rest of the world = USA.

I see that reasoning but destiny unbundled sold better on the xb1 than the ps4. So couldn't we say that shooters sell better on Xbox consoles in the US. And if the xb1 does sell more consoles, chances are they would mostly be av bundles rather than the COd bundle

So of course this is nothing concrete but if you couple shooters selling better on this region with more xbox's sold, it isn't unreasonable

Xbox has been know as the 'shooter' console because they typically have more big shooters like Gears and Halo as well as other smaller ones like Titanfall, Crackdown, SSo, ect.

I think Destiny was a special case though as it was made by the same developer that made halo.

Just as an example, I have a friend who has a PS4.
Well I was talking to him about destiny, and he was telling me that he wanted to play it, but didn't have an Xbox.

I was surprised, and told him it would be on the PS4 too, and he was like
"Oh, right! i forgot that Bungie was going multiplatform."

Anyways, that's just my experience, but my point is that it could also be that they had more recognition on Xbox than on playstation simply because that developer (Bungie) has a huge fanbase on xbox (a lot of who feel 'betrayed' about the exclusive playstation content).

Well yeah, it was the most up to date sales they had and was right after the MCC launch. They probably saw demand lower and decided to release the statement while the going was good.

Giving full month numbers, to me, makes more sense when NPD give them out then right after the month ends.
