Honestly im more interested in the 4k marvel netflix series and stranger things 2, when i get a 4k tv next year, thats where the bulk of my 4k focus will be, and dr strange if it releases in 4k
Not everyone has the access to infrastructure that allows true 4k streaming.
For those with 4k sets, how is a movie streamed via netflix at 4k compared to UHD Bluray playback? Is there any difference in image quality? Genuine question. I will never be able to stream at 4k.

No mention of it being up while they did provide a statement last month, so I think that means it is down. That would mean <303k.

I went with 305K in my October NPD prediction , so here's hoping it's slightly, slightly down XD

Not surprising since MS is doing a ton of fire sales while Sony just trying to make money on hardware and not being as aggressive just to sell a few more units

What 'fire sales' were there in the US in Oct? I truly didn't realize there were any.

Or is this just becoming the standard line from some of the Sony fanboys now when XB1 outsells PS4 in a month in the US?

July there were absolutely to clear out OG stock, but I don't think it's een like that since the S came out.

What the hell is wrong with some of you? I was genuinly interested in knowing whether the guy worked for Microsoft, and I was about to send him a PM. What does this have to do with your questions?
No need to get your knickers in a twist.

Streaming is definitely not as pristine as UHD Blu ray due to the bitrate being much lower when streaming. It's not really a question of which one is better though, but more a question of which one is better for content providers and good enough for most people (see: proliferation of digital cinema). Being without access to that infrastructure can definitely be a reason to not be satisfied with 4k streaming though, I will admit :X

I think Sony really messed up by not pricing the PS4 Slim at $250. We'll see what effect the Pro has, but I get the feeling the Xbox One has a real chance to take November and December as well.

I'm banking on XB1 winning both Nov and Dec. That brand has all the momentum right now. And momentum really pays off in the holidays. PlayStation's train seemingly leveled off with the announcement of the Pro/Slim. Watch Dogs and CoD partnerships won't move the needle. I don't think the Pro will do much as price and stock are such huge factors for the holidays. Both of which aren't in its favor.

But you guys... Nobody uses backward compatibility!
Can't wait to get one for that reason.

I disagree, the momentum will be with pspro once pro launches. It may be more expensive but there will still be alot of built up sales that the xbox has to erase and I don't see that happening since both slims will be 250 and will both sell out.

It's the main reason I bought it late last year during sales, even when it was just starting out, barely had games, and those that were there ran worse than xbox 360. Held out hope it would get better, and damn skippy it did! Plus I've come to love some of the exclusives like Rare Replay and Forza Horizon 3

Yes, ps4 will still come on top. Slim will sell slighlty under the xbox slim and then add in the monthly pro sales that will come along. It should push it above it. You can't ignore the effect pro is having. The same will occur as we get closer to scorpio.

I'm confident the combined weight of both Slim and Pro will outsell the S (I posted as much earlier), but we can't know that until next month.

Xbox has had constant xbox one sales since summer. Normally at least 50 off with an extra game. It's pretty good to see them selling so well but will it continue to outsell the ps4? I doubt it especially with Sony matching the price and having the pro out but we will see.

Really? I truly haven't seen these nonstop 50$ off with a free game (not including the factory bundles as that is the standard for both companies now). Looked back thru some of the CAG links etc and still not seeing those firesales.....

What was the gap this month?
Anyone know how much Pro has to sale to make up the increase?

Xbox has closed the gap roughly 200K right? So maybe a good 250-300k with this month's win?

Riiiiiight. I'm sure you also on the flip side don't believe Microsoft tripping over themselves to fuck up at launch had absolutely zero to do with PS4's success as well?

Well, it was one of the factors, assuredly. But Sony still knocked it out of the park with their positioning and messaging...I guess MS being responsible for their failure and Sony for their success would be a fair statement?

In the US, no it hasn't. Deals have never been that good.

I think you missed the point of my reply.

I've been wanting to buy one for a long time now, especially now with the S...But from what I constantly hear the MCC is still not great and it's pretty much the only reason I would buy one. To replay the Halo games, both SP and MP.

I get a bit lost with the momentum talk. The console is #1 these past months, yes, but the numbers those months have been also really similar to what it sold last year (when it was losing) and if I'm not mistaken they're still down YoY compared to the whole 2015.

The XBS improved the sales versus the first half of the year and they're getting back a bit of the gap in the US but they're not selling gangbusters or making a comeback, at least not yet.

I expect them to have a better holyday season than last year but not a massive difference

I don't know what to tell you guys but I have seen it consistently for both Canada and the US since it came out. I am overselling the consistentcy but it has been at least once a month if not more. The main place I see them is Microsoft Official store website but they seem to almost always have a price discount and a free game on top of the bundle.

The MS Store always has a free game deal (very old games). Actual big retailers have not had those same deals except for Amazon Prime day and that week long free game deal back in September.

This is great. I personally don't have an Xbox One, but Microsoft has been doing a fantastic job lately. I really admire their work with backwards compatibility.

I mean, the UHD is a major selling point. People can say it's firesales all they want, but these same firesales didn't help MS in the majority of previous months/years.

but they helped it the same, that's the thing. What's changed is the chart position, the sales are roughly the same

I understand that but for Xbox One to outsell the PS4 for the next 12 months consecutively would literally require a turnaround that has never happened in this industry before.

Not to mention that the gap between the two consoles these last 4 months isn't big enough to suggest this is now the norm as opposed to a variety of "perfect storm" factors that will at some point soon dissipate.

I responded to a comment that stated there were a "ton of firesales" in Oct.

You disagreed, and now finally admitting that you oversold your stance.

Ok. I think I'm done here as this pretty much proves my point.

To put things back in context, Gamestop and Walmart have been trying to get rid of OG stock bundles at $249 for weeks now, and they still have (apparently) plenty of it.
On Gamestop online, 4x OG $249 bundles make the top sales for Xbox hardware (even when they still had the supposedly "super high demand", or so I'm told, XB1S Halo5 bundle), and it's been that way for weeks.

If Xbox wins November I'll eat my fedora, theres just no logical way that can happen...right?

I mean December will be the real fight in my mind, but could you guys think of a situation where the Xbox One wins November?
