LOL, another failure by me.
Wow, where do I begin.
I got to Byrant Park and took out my phone to text Jipan. I noticed my phone sent him a text with a bunch of numbers and letters. I tried to fix my phone and text Jipan to let him know I'm there. PHONE FREEZES ON ME!!!!!
I walked around Bryant Park 3 or 4 times hoping I could see someone matching Jipan's description he sent me last night. I couldn't find him. I just got back home. My phone is still dead, and I've failed another GAF meetup. This is the second time if you're keeping track.
Oh, I was at Bryant Park. If you guys saw a short Asian guy in a blue shirt with a bottle of water and a phone in his hand walking around, that was me. Now I gotta figure out WTF is wrong with my phone.

It's kind of funny, my plans actually opened up at the last minute and could have went, which seems to be the opposite of everyone else.
I'm guessing NY GAF is mostly in the city, but if you're on Long Island you can come hang with me the rest of the day! Or really, if you're ever on LI you're more than welcome to stop by and catch an ass whopping on SF4, I got dem sticks ready.

What else you guys plan on doing later? I just unfroze my phone, and I have an unlimited Metro Card. If you guys plan on doing anything interesting later? I might attempt a 3rd time.

All right, I'm finally home after playing Where Is Waldo with my brothers trying to locate them in Times Square with a dead phone to no avail. I'm exhausted; a good cold shower did wonders.
Back on topic, so I'm thinking about having a meet up at the Brooklyn Museum of Art's First Friday event on August 3rd. Why? It's quite simple why. The Brooklyn Museum of Art's First Fridays is a pretty cool and chill event. I've heard many good things about it and I've honestly never been to that museum given its location.
The other one would be some time in late August; I'm looking at the weekend of the 23rd or the 31st (which would be after us college folks start a new semester); either Friday, Saturday or Sunday again of either weekend. Bowling is looking to be the activity du jour so I'll start looking into places after suggestions.
I remember GqueB recommended a bunch a of places in a previous meet up thread, so I'm gonna go through that thread, check it with Yelp, and get back to you guys. It'll definitely be in Manhattan for convenience's sake since I seem to recall a couple of the places he suggested being in Brooklyn.
As for the Sunday meet up, I think many people that don't drink e.g. Grave Robber X would have enjoyed it. I can definitely see more of those happening in the future without resorting to making a thread which leads me to my next and last point that I alluded to earlier:
I'm thinking about establishing a meet up group on Meetup.com or elsewhere to avoid paying monthly fees. So maybe we'll be the first ones to get the ball rolling on an operational group that consistently meets. Preferably as soon as possible. Obviously, I would be in charge of this group as well as a couple of trusty regulars that would be my right hand men.
So there you go folks. Digest all this delicious articulate information that I just typed and let me know what you about these things. Have a fantastic week and I'll be checking this thread when new posts come in.
EDIT: One last thing I wanted to mention. I'll be attending this month's Dare 2 Draw this Thursday from 6:30-9:30PM (Google it). If you any interest in art, drawing, are a pro artist already such Devil Trigger and Alcotholic, want to be a pro artist which is what you're going to school for, or need a good drawing workout, please PM me ASAP so we can meet up there if you're free. I will not make an individual meet up thread for this because it's not warranted; this is more of an NY Art GAF draws together type of thing. Disclaimer: I have never been to one of these before; Amy Reeder suggested that I go when I spoke to her at the last comic con I worked at. Now I'm really done.

The time has come to announce the 2nd meet up (if anyone's still down for the First Friday thing, let me know):
Mini meet up: Catching up with EviLore on August 5th
Place: TBD but thinking about Valhalla, Pony Bar West, or The Gaf redux but I welcome other places/areas
Time: TBD but I'll say 5PM for now (maybe earlier)
As always, folks are welcome to rendezvous earlier. Especially folks who are under 21 that want to say hi. As a disclaimer, you have to be 21 and over to go the bar. Also given the nature of the fact that it's a Monday and that most of you work and/or are a taking a summer class, I'm not expecting a large turn out so commit to coming only if you're absolutely sure you can make it.

Sounds like fun. I was planning on going down to the Society of Illustrators for their bi-weekly live model drawing night but I can always go on Thursday or next Tuesday. Color me interested. Unfortunately, not too many people check this thread/ are aware of it. But I'll probably go. Love playing some Indie games and networking with folks.
WTF?! People are actually intetested?! I thought this was a dead thread! EviLore's gonna fly into the city at 6 but won't be available until 10PM or so. The plan then is to meet up at Pony Bar instead. I'll give you all an update once he contacts me. It may or may not happen. In any case, come only if you don't have to work early the next day. I don't anticipate staying out past 1AM or so; maybe 2 at latest.

Update: It is officially canceled. He's stuck in an airport. I think I'm gonna let this thread die again. I may or may not make a separate thread for an August meet up. Due to my home internet being down, it's been tough typing from my phone. Otherwise, we'll officially reconvene again in September.
Again, I want to thank TheLastWizard, number47, Houston3000 (yes, he still exists), the other dude with glasses, and the crazy Asian dude for coming out to the Sunday outing. I also want to give a quick advance birthday shout out to birdhammer who's birthday is coming up in about a week or two so happy birthday man.
Folks are welcome to hit me up via PM if anyone wants to hang out or say hi since I'm free as a bird until the 28th. Even then I only have classes 3 days a week next semester. I might plan something low key later this month meaning that I will not be making a thread for it and text/PM folks. Take good care of yourselves and don't be a stranger.
