Last month we got the sales at around 4 o'clock. So I'm just hoping this is just some cruel joke on SC's part. :p

For the first couple of months after launch the PSP was DOUBLING the weekly sales of DS in Japan (~50k to ~25k). At that time everyone thought the inevitable PSP takeover was happening. You don't remember this?

It was with a barrage of very strong software that the DS hardware numbers picked up (and then went totally crazy with the DS Lite).

Yes, but DS still lead by almost a million LTD. (The closest the PSP ever came was within 700k or something IIRC.) An eventual PSP takeover did seem likely, but my point is that PS3 right now is in a worse shape than DS ever was.
