PlayStation 5 Pro does not work with the PS5 Slim plates.

I had some Cobalt blue plates so I decided to try them out on the Pro and I can confirm the bottom plates match the slim however the top plates do not match because while they're physically the same size. The teeth that connect to the system are and slightly different places. So you can't connect the top part. I'm only telling you all this so y'all know and don't bother ordering plates for the slim to use on the Pro.

I can't do any other pictures or anything like that because I don't feel like having a company come after me. Plus I can't take the system home to actually play it or anything so don't ask me about games on it. This is merely to answer people's questions about the plates and the Pro and nothing more.

I mean it seems quite possibly accurate but I’ll wait for it to be not some random Reddit poster especially since journalists are starting to get them to try out

Yes it was obvious by just looking at it, but I suppose you gotta have a eye for that.
Not at all. The post states they look right - "physically the same" but the way they fasten is different. The only way you can have an eye for that is to see the reverse side of them.

You are correct, but they didn't look right from the get go but maybe that's because the slims are glossy and the vents suggested it was different.

Plates are the same size. The only thing that prevents it is the position of the hooks of the top plates. That's dumb.
edit: well, it's not like I was going to buy plates anyway :messenger_tears_of_joy:

It's a Japanese manufacturer, so maybe?
I would have done that if I hadn't previously found the pic on ERA.
Oh it looks to have been correct all along, just don't see why Sony could not have posted this on their actual site but then again Sony has been super horrible about communicating as of late

Why would they fit? Isn’t this like expecting the Pro phones to match their Pro Max cases? I don’t get it.

Who said that it would?
IDK if anyone claimed it definitely would , but people speculated that it would.

It’s compatible with the Slim disc drive + disc drive cover. And the console appears to have been designed so that all the plates are the same size + shape as the Slim (it achieves the larger size by putting those ridges in the middle)

Honestly I’m pretty surprised they’re not compatible.
