So I'm deep in the catacombs in Metro, low on ammo with heightened awareness and out of nowhere a hell hounds leaps out start attacking me, I'm frantically fighting it off as I'm backing into a corner. My dog thought this was the absolute best moment to try to shag my leg. I nearly had a heart attack. Talk about immersion.
This made me lol because my dog is like a hump ninja. I’ll be minding my own business, washing up or something, and he’ll just pounce on my leg like a jack rabbit.

This is why a barely touch VR atm because it’s an open invitation.

Started up Metro and it seems to be what I wanted so far. I haven't fiddled with pcvr yet, just running it on ps5.

Atmosphere and mood are great. Its spooky as hell and the visuals are good but the mura is more noticeable than i expected. I'll probably end up buying it on Quest 3 as well just to support this type of game and have a portable option.

We're eating good. More AAA games coming.

What’s the deal, I have to start every game with the dualsense and the VR controllers turned off, and then turn on the VR controllers once the game is running, or else if I start the game with the VR controllers on, it wont recognize the left thumb stick or sometimes the left controller at all.

I have not had that issue.

Resident Evil 4 will not work in VR mode for me on PS5Pro.

It freezes the moment it goes into room scale setting

It works for me, but read some people has freeze, wonder what the root couse is

Ive read on Reddit that the freezes may relate to conflict with a previous save game that you have for a prior playthrough on the ps5 standard. Not sure whether the fix is to delete the save or otherwise. Other than that, it may be time to reach out to Capcom for a patch.

Ive been able to boot up RE4RE in the VR mode without issue as I'm playing for the first time. Let me know how you get on I'd be interested to know whether the previous save game issue is true or not.

I like watching this blokes content and I flicked through this to see what his thoughts were. I feel like it should be fairly obvious that you'll only really see improvements in existing games that offer a dynamic resolution, variable framerate or have been patched specifically with upgrades. Anything else will look and perform the same as before. It's not like a PC GPU upgrade where you can turn settings up and down to see the differences.

Uh, I'm not on Reddit, what does it say?
Oops, sorry! Had no idea you need an account:

"In its first few weeks, Encircled has already made 90% of Quest’s lifetime sales

I know this community finds analytics interesting. Like most of you, I was surprised to see the Max Mustard team mention how well their game (which is delightful and everyone should play) was doing on the platform compared to the Quest.

While I enormously enjoyed porting it over to the PSVR2, Encircled is obviously a low-budget game for a very niche audience—releasing it on a comparatively smaller platform seemed like it might not be the best use of time and effort (outside of my personal enjoyment learning the platform, which to be honest would have been reward enough for me).

Reality has turned out to be quite the opposite, and I thought I’d share that insight and thank all of you for the support. To be clear, the PSVR2 version has earned 90% of what the Quest version has earned total. It will very likely pass it over the next couple of weeks.

This makes it much easier to persuade the powers that be to allow me more time working on updates to Encircled, as well as a proper PSVR2 title (which I will definitely be telling you more about in the near future). Much love to you all."

Just wanted to share this with you, guys. Hopefully PSVR2 will remain being a viable VR platform for a few more years!

This is great to hear and a far cry from Bit Planet Games who said they’d never waste resources on significant PSVR2 upgrades again after converting Ultrawings 2 and getting disappointing sales.

Solid improvement for vr, new reprojection algorithm eliminating ghosting visable on car when overtaking and in vr replays :messenger_ok: edit: unfortunetly it introduce noticable artifacts as double hud in w196 car or shimerring at front of Bac Mono.

How is GT7 on PSVR2? I read the res is higher and RT too? Would have been better if they upgraded the FPS to 90fps native? What i want more is reduced ghosting and then higher res.

That's pretty much what you get, impressions show much reduced ghosting, and also there is a 90fps mode I read you can unlock in options but it has some drops apparently. I'm hopeful they will improve the framerate eventually but for now it's just the reprojection improvements that reduce ghosting. Though it's still pretty confusing so who knows. Either way it definitely reduces ghosting haha, but I'd love for some more impressions whoever has a PS5 Pro.

Info about new reprojection algorithm:
https://www.sony.com/en/SonyInfo/technology/activities/STEF2022/exhibition_0302/02/
And from dev post on reddit:
RSTXIII:
For everyone asking about positional reprojection:

  • It has been around for a while
  • It is not exclusive to the Pro
  • It improves the ghosting effect, but is harder on the GPU than standard reprojection. This is (partly) why many games with reprojection haven’t used it.
Source: Dev. I tested it out for Encircled, but still preferred native 90. For something graphically intensive like Gran Turismo though, it’s pretty incredible.
