PS5 Pro pre-orders go live |OT| [10/10 Pre-Order Links Updated In OP]

The wait is crushing..😭😱😱. Where is my PROOOOO ??? 😭. Wanna see what ps5 is all about and tackle my GOAT backlog. 🤩🤩

Man, I've been without a console for 2 weeks now and I'm friggin' jonesing, I've tried to play a couple of games on my laptop via Amazon Luna, Amazon gaming and Epic store but A) my setup doesn't allow me to do so since my laptop sits in front of my TV on my desk and it's a clusterfuck with all the HDMI cables, Headphones cable, having to rearrange my laptop as to be able to actually look at the TV and B) my laptop obviously can't handle games well...

Being able to relax after a shitty day at work sure is a nice commodity, it's a "don't know what you got 'til it's gone" thing as stupid and dramatic as it sounds (1st world problems, I know).
Basically, I've been bored out of my goddamned mind...

Really hope that Amazon doesn't shit the bed with the delivery date which is still scheduled for the 7th

Does the PS5 Pro have special new hardware that allows it to use PSSR that the regular PS5 doesn't have, or is it basically just locked behind paying more?

I'm not sure if it's a mistake or not, but I just chatted with my brother who pre-ordered the Pro as well, and apparently the retailer he pre-ordered from called him this morning to say they’ll ship his Pro on Monday or Tuesday, which means he might get it 1-2 days before the official release lol.

I pre-ordered mine from the same retailer, but no call from them to let me know they'll ship it Monday - Tuesday. :lollipop_pensive:

I’m hurting ladies and gents. The damn box won’t be here till the 11th. I even had my wife who runs over 20 post offices in the Beaufort SC area and has contracts with Amazon, call the distribution hub and find out if I could drive to Tennessee and grab the damn thing. It didn’t work out boys.

I was blown up in Iraq in a stinking desert, my wife told me for years I was worthless to the family because I did nothing but volunteer to deploy to the Middle East for a decade every other year, one of my children are now adults and buys microtransactions, but getting the email today and finding out I will not have that weekend with the box has truly cut me down to my soul.

It hurts, dammit.

Off topic, but can I just take my 4TB nvme from my PS5 and install it in the PS5 Pro and play games from the get go?

But you can just swap nvme to different PS5's today without formatting, right?
I'm not sure. I remember old PS models had a 3 digit code I believe that each unit was assigned that if you installed a new HD it needed to be formatted. Someone here must have tried swapping or google would have the answer.

Ummm I'm not sure about that but on my current PS5 I had to completely reinstall the full firmware with a USB dongle and format the internal ssd and after I was done with it it didn't ask me to format the M.2 drive. It recognized the games already installed on it.
It should be a similar situation to putting the hard drive on another PS5 but I guess I'll find out as well next week.

As of today, you absolutely can. My wife got a new PS5, so I put the NVME from my PS5 into her console and upgraded mine. I booted up her PS5 and it worked instantly with no issues.

Excellent to hear as I'm moving my 2TB to the new one. Copying to backup USB drive would work but take forever.

With all this NVME talk, has anyone seen any updated videos about slower SSDs with modern games? Is all that still a non issue, do the videos from back around launch still hold true? I sold my 2 ps5s with the ssds that were in them, so will be looking for another over black friday sales and hopefully just throwing a 4tb in the pro.

I'm seeing some peoples orders on twitter move to prepared to ship on ps direct.

Argos better not make me regret it if ps direct folks get it earlier :messenger_crying:

I was going to go with Argos, but they wanted £7 delivery when I spent £800. I thought that was really cunty not giving me free delivery so stuck with PlayStation Direct.

This is why I didn't sell mine. I knew I would be bored out of my mind when the weekend came and my wife worked. I'll just wait to sell it after.

I read in another thread here that you only need to set it up first with the account, then transfer the SSD, and no formatting is needed.
I assume you can pop it in and then set up your account though? Saves faffing if I can install it and then power up and do profile etc. I'm assuming also I can do saves import from my usb backup from base PS5 too...

Just noticed ps direct have taken the money out of my account.
Anybody know who they use as curriers? I'm in the UK.
I'm hoping for no issues, I've booked Thursday off work

Kept mine until I know the Pro is good and also all saves etc have transferred over properly.
I need to remember my saves. They don't seem to save for my sons account and I felt bad he had to start over on minecraft dungeons. Might do that tonight just to be safe.

Oh that's surprising. I got free delivery.

But i got the cost down to just over £500 with vouchers i had, don't know if the cost determines free delivery or something.

I cry about Xbox and hate PlayStation.
hey guys, is the below process the the correct way to transfer data from ps5 to ps5 pro?

base PS5 data transfer via lan cable to PS5 pro > log out from base PS5

Do you have to log out from PSN on base ps5?

Even though my order now says 'preparing to ship', Sony could well just specify a delivery day of the 7th with the courier, DPD. Seems unlikely that they'd break their stated release date with purchases off their own site. But we live in hope.

Yeah, I don't expect to get it early. Maybe a day at most but that is probably unlikely.

finally got charged and "preparing to ship" status in US (central). looks like everyone's are locked and loaded! now we wait. and play our ps5 games imagining how great they're going to look in a week. only to then be let down by the minimal increases in fidelity. but hey, at least i'll have the latest in console technology!
