With games like Quake 2 releasing from hungry young developers I'm hopeful for the future of this industry.
I actually understand what you’re saying. The limitations of the technology didn’t allow for the kind of detailed animations Doom had, so we got the knock back/gibbing. I definitely don’t hate it, but there is a distinct lack of impact in many of the death animations unless you do enough damage to gib them. It’s a product of it’s time though, Half Life and Unreal weren’t much different.Nah, man. Even Doom 1 and 2 is better than Quake 2 .
The death animations are lame in Quake 2 imo.
What is the invert issue? Did they not include an invert option? Was playing 3 player co-op with my kids. So much fun, even on controller. They just need to fix the invert issue.
They did but in co-op it is either normal or inverted for all players. Each player has their own controller settings and their own invert setting it just populates to all the other players so it seems like it is a bug that is hopefully fixed soon. What is the invert issue? I would love to see it, unfortunately Epic gives no shits for the series anymore .now time to reboot the OG Unreal!
Haven't played it yet, but wasn't aware it had that many changes. The reviews. It's not a good remaster, they changed too many things were they should have changed none.
Q1 if you only intend to play the campaign.
Q2 for the greatest multiplayer in history (esp. duel)
Quake 1 IMO is a better game. Can't say for the quality of Quake 2. Quake 1 have perfomances issues on base PS4.
This tends to be a divisive question. I love both, but I definitely prefer the first. At the same time, I have no argument with people who prefer the second. This or Quake 1? I've never played either.
Are you talking about the weird frame pacing issue? It is possible to make that go away but it's annoying to do each time you want to play the game.
It isn't a "strange physicality" it's just a well designed engine and super fine tuned mechanics and gameplay, sadly people are so used to garbage, boring games one comes along that's actually fun and good and they think it's a "strange physicality"This tends to be a divisive question. You will find that both have aged extremely well. The world has a strange kind of physicality which has rarely been matched since its release.
You repeated exactly what I said, but in a way that tries to make me look bad.It isn't a "strange physicality" it's just a well designed engine and super fine tuned mechanics and gameplay, sadly people are so used to garbage, boring games one comes along that's actually fun and good and they think it's a "strange physicality"
Question though, do you do better damage the closer you are to the enemies in this?
Taking a quick look online, it doesn't appear to have any multiplayer trophies.Could care less about multiplayer.....how is this for single player content on PS5? Decent trophy list a platinum without multiplayer trophies?
my bad, but there's nothing strange about it was my pointYou repeated exactly what I said, but in a way that tries to make me look bad.
I love how Nightdive gives you a shit load of content and updates and patches, they are great value-for-money games. This game's so fun, Idk why it was so forgotten. I got my first PC in like 2001 and it was already irrelevant so I only first played it way later. It's way more fun than the so called Quake killer back then, Unreal, too, though I get why that turned heads with some of its effects and wide open spaces.
Now how do we get this CRT shader to play other 3D oldies with? Nightdive should really update all their games with it at least, they should all offer some of the same core options and improvements rather than have each release with its pros and cons.
