- PS4 sucks

- E3 2016 sucked (except for Zelda)

- The only good thing game-related on youtube is classic game room. The rest is pure shit (kinda funny, IGN podcast, TotalBiscuit).

I absolutely detest video walkthrough. I hate how youtube guides killed the written ones. Guess everyone's got Pewdiepie envy and are trying to monetize...
Video guides are incredibly unpractical and time wasting compared to the good old text ones, where you could have skimmed over to the point you needed extremely fast.

Totally agree with this, 99 times out of 100 I'd vastly prefer quickly skimming to the part I want in text. Videos are only occasionally useful for stuff thats hard to describe.

Also (again), fuck shoulder camera. That stupid trend is getting worse.

I will go further and say this is true for me about almost anything, not just video game walkthroughs. I dislike having to watch a video for news, or having to watch a documentary and much rather read written articles

You don't even like Lazy Game Reviews? Clint is intelligent, passionate without being shouty, and has a voice that could melt butter. Also his Oddware and Tech Tales episodes are amazing.

Microsoft just wrote its own suicide note in the console arena this E3, and the XBox name will only be tied to a service in the very near future. Going in both directions on new consoles seems to be a problem, especially since the slim model is $400 when it really should be half. I'm actually interested in the beefed up Scorpio, but not at the price that it'll likely be (I'm assuming more than $400). Also where is the incentive for me to get a Scorpio if all the games will be on PC?

Sony is continuing to rest on their laurels. They've used up the good will and now its time to deliver the goods. PSN still isn't as good as Xbox live. I've had fun with the PS4, but I'm not excited about it, outside of No Man's Sky and Horizon.

Nintendo has Zelda, which has a great style and shitty last-gen fucking graphics. I like how people think that they are holding back some treasure trove of goodies for the NX in the face of the very real possibility that this new Zelda, if its a masterpiece, could likely be their last, dying breath of greatness.

Steam is a dumpster fire that I only use begrudgingly because its the defacto standard in the PC arena.

VR seems DOA.

Since we already got The Witness, Doom, Stardew Valley, Dark Souls 3 and Overwatch this year, I'm thinking that E3 didn't really matter, since 2016 has already been a great year for games.

I never like God of War. No matter how much I tried to like it, I never could. I'm not excited for the new one.

I also think Horizon Zero Dawn looks stupid...

So basically everything is doom and gloom.

Do you perchance like to play video games? Lol

Yeah, I'm just feeling sour on gaming ATM.

I do think Horizon:Zero Dawn, Zelda, Forza/GT Sport, GOW, Detroit, Whatever that Kojima Game was called, and REVII look like good to great games. Also, I think that indie games will continue to produce some of the more interesting content, much like Axiom Verge and Undertale did for me last year.

Doom 4 is exceptionally over-rated game that doesn't do anything better than other FPS games around. It is just an ok arena shooter with pretty terrible weapons, extremely poor gore, mind-numbing "glory kills" and no story line or anything to keep you going. Just an arena after arena with boring predictable enemies with constant health drops that make you invincible. The game has extremely poor colour pallet and everything looks the same, the ground textures are insanely bad and most environmental details are pre-historic in their graphical fidelity. Most weapons feel dull, boring and weak and some of the alpha effects on them (specifically on the plasma rifle) are beyond terrible. I am so mad at this game, SO MAD!

Well, now that I got that out of my system, the game is ok, it doesn't impress me on any front but it can be fun at times. I just can't play it for more than 30 minutes at a time, it is just too soulless.

Don't hate me, guys, ok? I don't think it was a (total) waste of money, but I expected a lot more.

I guess to hop on the wagon a bit, I'll say that I'm" not really excited for the new God of War. Don't get me wrong, I'm" very happy they decided to go for Norse mythology and I love bearded Kratos but what I wanted from the new God of War (more or less an Ascension successor - gameplay wise plus multiplayer) is not the direction they decided to take and that's perfectly fine and I am happy for those excited for the new direction of the series. I'll just stick with playing Ascension.

Ooh, the post-E3 controversial opinion thread bump

The God of War 4 footage from E3 looked awful. It looked way too scripted, and it reminded me of The Order. The combat from the other games was quite fun. What I saw at E3 didn't look fun at all.

I wasn't impressed either. It was very pretty, but it looks like they're taking it in a more narrative-focused, scripted direction. The old games were fun but I don't care about Kratos as a character. So I don't think this is for me.

Mobile Suit Gooch

Grundle: The Awakening
Gran Turismo Sport looks more fun than Forza Horizon 3.

Also I think world of Final Fantasy might be a more fun game than XV.

Days gone looks boring.

Recore was the only thing interesting exclusive out of that ms show.

I wished Horizon Zero Dawn didn't get pushed back to 2017 because I don't want UC4 be uncontested in being ps4 goty.

Someone is going to have to explain mechanical dinosaurs in Horizon for me. How the fuck is that a thing? So we have the tech for that and high tech weapons but we rolling around in loin cloths?

Looks great. Makes no sense.

I would like if nintendo was just a third party game company. But I do hope they still have a successful new console next year.

Boom, there you have it. And I love it. Cause why not? I prefer having stylistic creativity over completely bound by realism every time.

Well done.

Is 2016 and still most games bathrooms lack mirrors

Is 2016 and the AI in games still suck big time

Is 2016 and smoke effects have not improved since 2003

is 2016 and still some games presented for the Xbox360 and PS3 unveil can´t look that good with current hardware

is 2016 and many studios have trouble illuminating their game world

I really want to like Watch Dogs 2, but cant help to see empty streets with barely no vehicles, LOD that sucks and off all the things they said they have improved, the game engine aint one. Same for Ghost Recon.

I'll post this here:
The new Zelda does nothing for me. Don't care for the gameplay shown, the art style, characters, the graphics... everything. Everything about it is underwhelming to me.

I forgot to add: more hate points if they put a 30 seconds animated intro for a 2 minutes video.
Even better: any fucking intro is absolutely pointless and totally annoying and time wasting. I know who you are. It's written right under the video.

I feel like the extremely fast refresh rate for video game consoles has resulted in a hardware non-standardization and lack of consumer confidence that removes some of the main benefits of console gaming. (Which is hardware standardization and the knowledge that you'll have a steady stream of games that will work with your box for several years.)

I might as well invest in a new computer built for gaming. Although I don't know anything about buying parts or putting them together.

*fist bump*

Though, to be fair, the only LoZ games I've truly enjoyed were the original and Wind Waker. Huh, I guess that's my own controversial opinion. So there you go.

These are genuinely false. Has anybody gone back and actually looked at 2003 effects lately?

And I can't think of any bullshot footage from gen 7 launch that isn't achievable today. Including Killzone 2.

Using a Ubisoft game as the example of how modern games are disappointing may not be the best yardstick.

With not having a female option I won't play the new Zelda.

I enjoy Battleborn far more thenjoyable Overwatch...though they are different enough I can like both.

Detroit was Game of e3 for me.

Japanese games are rarely good.

Totally my opinion, I just can't get into most JRPG games that come out. Notable exception being the Soulsborne games.

Mobile Suit Gooch

Grundle: The Awakening
LOL I have enough quality games that I won't mind missing on one.

Between no gender choice and what I feel is an ugly art style I think this "lost" isn't really an issue.

Heh. Just messing with you. I feel that way too somewhat. I mean, I don't think I would be interested in Horizon if Aloy was a guy, y'know?

With no male option in Horizon you won't play it either right?

It's all good :) I just roll with the punches in this thread.

Her being a female certainly makes me more interested in Horizon certainly.

Don't get me wrong I don't believe for a second Zelda won't be good but we have some amazing games coming down the pipe and I have a limited budget.

I hope Zelda is straight 10's but I much rather give games that allow me to play as a woman or speak to me personally.

The new Zelda will have the biggest backlash yet once people notice they're just playing that same old open world that "sucks". Game that people who don't only own Nintendo systems have been playing for the last 10 years or so.

GameCube-level graphics are good enough. I think Nintendo had the right idea not to compete with Sony and Microsoft in terms of console power the past few gens.
