the characters are unlikeable, except for Joel
I don't full disagree with your post, I think TLOU is pretty overrated. However, this point is really odd to me. I feel Joel is the most unlikeable character in the whole game (besides cannibalists, I suppose).
And this is why we can't have nice things...i didn't care about Ellie, wish if i can smash her face through a wall
i didn't care about the rest of the cast
Joel is the only one i liked, he's not trying too hard to be cool like Drake does, what made him likeable to me is that he can fist people to death and it's super fun while doing it
TLOU is a very pretty game that uses a lot of creative visual tricks. It was arguably curb stomped by Crysis 3 on PC, released the same year, but TLOU was remarkable for a PS3 title, even if it prerendered a lot of stuff. (I personally consider RE6 more impressive in a certain sense because it doesn't switch to a pre-recorded video every time something "cinematic" happens.) You do have a point, though, about stuff like Beyond: Two Souls being overlooked.when it came out in 2013 everyone says that it had the best graphics ever, What the fucking fuck ??? how the fuck did they not see Beyond: two souls ?? that game looks even better than most games today
Visually speaking, Breath of the Wild > Horizon.

I almost spit out my drink on this one lol
I can't believe what I'm reading.
Is this RL?
Nintendo are cunts with their business practice. Just a couple off the top of my head:
Why the fuck wasn't the joycon charging grip included in the box? It's not even as if it contains a battery in the grip, it's just a passthrough with usb connector.
Why are they locking more and more worthwhile content behind glamourised McDonalds toys.
I hope what happened to Sega happens to Nintendo.
I'm a fucking hypocrite that bought a Switch though so I'm fuelling this damn fire...
Stupid, pointless crafting system. Why ever use armor and weapons that aren't Witcher gear? It's easy to find and upgrade and it's miles better.
Brutal Doom is better than Doom 2016
MGS4 is the best one.
Resident Evil 4 is overrated and turned a great survival horror series into a shooter. Thankfully currently playing through 7 in VR and its bringing back the vibes of the original
The Witcher 3 is awful. The story is boring and the gameplay is just bad. Every quest is the same shit, follow the red trail in detective vision and either kill something or find something. All of the characters are either annoying or assholes, sometimes both. Stupid, pointless crafting system. Why ever use armor and weapons that aren't Witcher gear? It's easy to find and upgrade and it's miles better. It's one of 2 games I regret buying this gen, but of the 2 I actually expected this one to be good.
Zelda BotW is also tedious and boring, with boring and bad combat and shitty sidequests. Since rain exists, you can only sometimes have any fun in this game. Shrines are no replacement for dungeons, they just aren't that good. I'm happy I got 40 bucks for it after I quit.

Violent games can desensitize people to violence, especially realistic games that have you kill humans. This is easily my most controversial opinion at least on GAF, I don't think I've ever seen anyone agree.
MGS4 is the best one.
Even by old RE standards, Code: Veronica was terrible.I could not agree more. RE4 was the death of the series to me. Code Veronica was a better RE game than RE4. 7 was wonderful, and I can't wait for 2's remake.
I look forward to GAAS and online future. I love games where I feel like I'm a part of a community, and get excited by a steady stream of content updates.

Can't be when Peace Walker exists. You mean the worst?
Reading this (and few other) thread makes me think that Mario will sweep the GOTYs this year while few months ago Zelda was a lock. Seen quite a bit backlash toward the game and Mario will still be relatively fresh in the GOTY season.
Gonna go with no on that one as well (for some reason, fans of C:VX are always quick to put down 3 for the sake of making the former look better).Oh please...Code Veronica X is an excellent game, at the very least a better one than 3.

Except there's not a single thing that Code: Veronica does better as an actual game compared to 3. In fact, everything about it is a regression gameplay-wise (minus getting rid of item placement randomization, which I considered a legitimate flaw in 3). One of the only nice things I can be bothered to say about C:VX is that it has good music. For a reason. It's by far my least favorite of the old ones (Bloodborne is GOAT), unless we are taking Zero into account. That's actually unbelievably bad.
I agree as well. People got too into the Jack Thompson fuckery and swung too far the other way.
As a kid I remember having violent outbursts even while playing Mario. Tension exists in all sorts of video games. When kids are playing, that tension gets multiplied. This has to be separated from visual representation which can also certainly influence.
Sure but this applies to frustration out of videogames too, kids can get frustrated and start a fight because of soccer game they are playing too. Or if they aren't succesful in whatever they are trying to do. And ofcourse it's not just kids.As a kid I remember having violent outbursts even while playing Mario. Nah, Breath of the Wild is locked in to win most of the GOTY awards this year - no doubt about it.
