This is why they prefer buying the studios outright instead of doing these one off deals.
No you didnt get what i mean, i agree with you. I mean there are people saying they paid 600k for some trash, when in reality these kind of games are very popular on PC.
Its back to the old 'AAA or bust' with many on here.
what they are aiming for here ? building a lineup of sim games on GP ?
I think the time where MS have to split their console game pass offering and roll gold in to it is rapidly approaching. I don’t see how Xbox only users with game pass ultimate should have to bank roll this toss for PC users.Well i assume the game is coming to PC Gamepass too, where the majority of people will probably be playing this kind of game.
EDIT. In fact yes it is on PC gamepass
But Ultimate is on PC too, i have it.I think the time where MS have to split their console game pass offering and roll gold in to it is rapidly approaching. I don’t see how Xbox only users with game pass ultimate should have to bank roll this toss for PC users.
Yes but Ultimate for a PC user is completely optional (you’d only subscribe if you have an Xbox and want Cloud gaming). But Ultimate is on PC too, i have it.

Nah, it's just content. Everything goes
Not sustainable.
Ppl say they want to support the devs, but by supporting gamepass you are supporting the devs in a big way, if this is true.

Ultimate on console is mandatory if you want online play.
Not to mention console users subsidising PC game pass subscribers having access to EA Play in the base tier.
The game is $20. So basically Microsoft paid the devs for 30,000 copies across Xbox and PC. Why’s everyone acting as if it’s a crazy sum?
For Gamepass to work, it has to have variety and diverse content for multiple audiences. can’t call a game ‘shovelware’ because it’s one you won’t play.
That’s one month sub from 40000 people. To keep the game on PC and console Gamepass for at least a year.
Right i get what you mean. I didnt realize Xbox users had to have Ultimate to play online, thats a little harsh to be fair.Yes but Ultimate for a PC user is completely optional (you’d only subscribe if you have an Xbox and want Cloud gaming).

Because PC subs get vastly more for their money (at the base tier) despite console subs outnumbering PC subs. Why do you think console subs are subsidizing pc subs? Do we know how users are split console vs PC? Do we know how much is paid for a console vs a PC game? I thought Microsoft was subsidizing everything right now?
Ok? Still is not sustainable. That’s one month sub from 40000 people. To keep the game on PC and console Gamepass for at least a year.

Yeah man it was in their last quarterly report, there’s 12 PC Game Pass users. So they have published that console vs PC split or are we guessing?
£7.99 on Xbox; Game Pass only. £7.99 on PC; Game Pass, EA Play, no online paywall.I'm not sure PC subs get vastly more for their money.
Indie devs finessing microsoft, yeah i see why they love game pass

Not on topic as EGS doesn't offer GaaS.Well i mean we already knew from the Epic leaks that Epic were paying way lower for their exclusivity deals and free games than what people expected. It wont be any different for Microsoft, and Sony.
Except there are studios that have joined the program voluntarily.
The problem is in this case it's some european indie that already sold 700,000 copies and unlikely will generate more subs so i don't get why they would spend money on this instead of a more advantageous Indie game with bigger mindshare that hasn't joined by themselves.
BTW, Zenimax had some games on gamepass day 1 before the buyout so I don't think that acquisition was for Gamepass.

Wish they'd at least bank roll ports for the good PC games like Warhammer.
Instead you'll get shower with your dad simulator next
Ok? Still is not sustainable.

Is that Greenberg?
Kind of looks like him I was looking at throwing money gifs and saw the look a like so knew which one I had to pickIs that Greenberg?

But I heard devs are losing money when getting their games on game pass.Ppl say they want to support the devs, but by supporting gamepass you are supporting the devs in a big way, if this is true.
Their games being on Game Pass could have certainly influenced the decision to take steps to ensure their games will continue to be on there.BTW, Zenimax had some games on gamepass day 1 before the buyout so I don't think that acquisition was for Gamepass.

I don't think they meant they wanted to support the devs making shovelware though....Ppl say they want to support the devs, but by supporting gamepass you are supporting the devs in a big way, if this is true.
It wasn't solely for GamePass, but GamePass was definitely a big factor. Phil Spencer said it himself at the roundtable shortly after the acquisition was approved.
"You'll find Bethesda games wherever GamePass exists" or something to that effect, those were basically his words. So GamePass was a factor into the acquisition.
