More than 2 years since the 4090 was released bud.

And yes you can buy a ps5 pro console and call it a day. That’s the main advantage of owning a console.

Sure you get fucked with games 2x more expensive than PC games ( speaking of old games specifically where you can buy them for few bucks on PC vs outrages prices on Sony store )

Oh and you have to pay to play online but to be fair, less cheating on consoles.

It’s kinda give or take really.
You can buy used games on consoles. Can you buy used games on PC??

Different hardware design. There was never an instance where 3080 was less powerful than 2080ti. Or 4080 less than the 3090 or 3090ti.

Always on paper seems leas powerful but it’s not. This gen shouldn’t be an exception

I have looked on previous gens and most of the time on paper xx80 is faster than last gen xx80ti/xx90.

Most of the time it's some clock bump or shader core bump that makes them perform better (but not always of course).

We are ready

AMD just gave Jensen the green light to up prices by 10% more.

They have nothing to compete with RTX 5000 series.
Unfortunately. yeah. They're releasing their new GPU gen to compete with... last gen GPUs from their competitor. And not even the higher end on that.

Not sure what are you trying to bring to the table. I already said each has its advantages and disadvantages. why are you repeating ?

Also, I just bought the Hong Kong Massacre for 2$ Canadian and the Ascent on PC for 2.30$ Canadian. total is 4.5$ Canadian. How much are they at the PlayStation store? yeah. 20$ and 40$ Canadian... 60$ vs less than 5$.

Go buy them used and resell them. Let's see if you lose less than $ $5 in both these games ( and you will no longer own them, too ).

Anyway. like I said, each has its advantages. but the rapid increase of people adopting PC is increasing for a reason. people are getting tired of console BS and outrages prices.

100$ Canadian to play online? fuck off and shove that console up your ass ( not you )

its really possible its weaker. if thats the case I might revert back to a used 4090 and call it a day. but if it has something exclusive and cool that i will be using like DLSS4 for example ? then i am forced to go either 5080 or 5090. and most likely i am going to buy a 5090 anyway. We will know in few hours.

Reading all these posts of people wanting to upgrade their 4090's... No wonder the prices are the way they are!
That's how the economy works. A 5090 at $800 would be impossible to keep in stock. A 5090 at $5000 would barely sell. There is a sweet spot for that kind of card and Nvidia is going after it. They can go +/- $200 and risk very little.

It's way easier to convince a 4090 owner to jump to the 5090 than a 4060 owner to buy a 5060.

No, but steam offers insane discounts few times during the year (I paid around $10 for both SW Fallen Order and Jedi Surivor). ENEBA also often offers surprisingly cheap keys. I paid about $48 for the SH2 Remake when it came out.

I spend a lot less on PC games than I did when I was buying PS4 games for my PS4Pro.

Edit- I forgot about EPIC store, they often offer free AAA games. I have like 30 free games on my epic account LOL 😁.

Pricing has gone completely off the rails, top of the line graphics cards used to be in the $500 range, now they are practically a months rent. When I see a truly next gen game that is worth dropping a few thousand on experiencing, I'll consider picking up a next gen card (Gta6 path tracing?)

I wonder what Jensen's doing right now... probably signing autographs or rehearsing or deciding on the prices
Wondering if he should by a humongous yacht with the money we'll give him in case Elon will one-up him with a larger one at the next club meeting.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Best of luck to those that mean to buy one. Hopefully they only cost money and no firstborn has to be sacrified.

After AMD's car-crash presser earlier today, this is a lay-up for Nvidia.

I have a 4090 so I'll probably skip this gen, but I would be interested to see DLSS4. Hopefully it'll be available to 40x series cards.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a 50-60% gain from the 4090 > 5090, and maybe a 5-10% gain from the 4090 > 5080.

Exciting to see Jensen Huang on stage to launch gaming GPU again, GeForce long overdue for a major architecture change, tonight should be interesting.

I am thinking of picking up a 5090, was holding out for a 4090 ti. I paid $1600 for my 3090 ti, and two generations later, I can pay an extra $400 to get what I would guess is going to be somewhere between 75%-100% more performance sounds like an insane gain. Plus on the power side, is it a lot of power? Sure, 600 watts is probably the low end too, I wouldn't be surprised if aftermarket cards push 700-800 watts. My 3090 ti used 460 watts today at some point while gaming, so a 5090 is about 25% more expensive, and about 25% more power hungry but that the card delivers that much performance is actually nuts.

I probably don't want any of those cards but seriously, they cannot make a worst conference than AMD can they? :messenger_tears_of_joy:

If Jensen presents, should be quite a show

Expecting more like 30% myself with some voodoo shit like x3 frame gen exclusive to these cards to extract maximum dollar from my wallet.

Not long until we find out. Last attempt at sleep before i give in and make yself presentable for Jensen (get the wallet ready i mean).

Any guess when these go up for order?

Hopefully not tonight :messenger_sunglasses: . If memory serves me correctly its usually a few days after the announce? Could be wrong. I remember snagging a launch 3080 but im sure it was mid afternoon UK time.

Darkness no more
My 4070ti Super is only a year old so I do not see the need to upgrade. But I am interested in seeing if they jack the prices up on the new stuff even more.
