cable burning, deffective chips, capacitor blows up.

I think it's too much issue for a "rare" and very expensive product, especially for a launch window

I prefer console gaming. Just turn my console on and play. Don’t have to worry about drivers or fires starting that could burn my house down and kill my family.

The amount of power these cards draw is insane and this was bound to happen.
Any other time i would argue with you. I would argue about the freedom an open platform provides, the backwards compatibility, the mods, etc.

But the situation with GPUs is so bad right now that i even consider to go back to console gaming after a whole decade.

If it kills my family I am going back to console for good.

What time is it?
People are shitting on the 50 series too. Most of the hate for PS5 Pro was console gamers annoyed at having to pay way more than they were used to paying for hardware.

Are the ones with missing rops melting or is it the "proper" ones that are on fire.

All jokes aside, the reality is that there’s been a grand total of 3 confirmed cases of connectors/cables melting.

It’s not a fake problem, but if you browsed Reddit, you’d think that everyone who bought a 5090 is homeless because it burned their house down. In reality, I’m not worried about it at all.

Thanks early 5090 buyers/beta testers. Your sacrifice won't go unnoticed. They fill fix next iteration batch of 5090 GPUs for lesser price, just like what happened with 4090.
