Even AusilMV states this is just a rumor that they cannot 1000% confirm, but given they’ve always been right on the money with MultiVersus leaks in the past, I highly doubt this doesn’t have some validity to it.
Also a popular strategy is to leave some big names out in order to release them later for hype and then the game dies and it has never been what it could have been.
Looking at you hots. Stop complaining about them creating meme characters or entirely original characters for this crossover game. Yes a lot of fan favorites are missing but we'll eventually get them all.
They said
Meanwhile the game died without have a tauren that isn't just a meme. Let that sink in, a blizzard crossover game with 100+ characters didnt have a tauren that wasnt a meme. Many more but that's just one example.
I wouldn't be surprised, honestly. It's a shame, there's a lot of potential there, but during my time with it you could see all kinds of holes and improvements that needed to happen.
Did they learn anything from the first time this game failed though? I didn't even try to play it for a second time so I have no idea what they changed from the original release.
The problem is the game is designed solely for hardcore smash players at the expense of everybody else. When the game first launched it was right up their alley in terms of movement and speed but they changed that when it came back so now nobody is really happy. They've made all kinds of bad changes since then along with releasinga bunch of overpowered dlc characters one after another. It's really been a masterclass of unforced errors.
