It really depends. Nintendo consoles have long legs and can increase in monthly sales over time. It wouldn't shock me if they did such a short lead up to putting the console to market, especially if production won't be massive at launch. The hype can be generated once its already to market leading up to christmas. Let's not forget, these consoles are for children, who dont buy it themselves. Lol.

Big Nintendo fan here, as much as I loved Switch exclusives (and Wii U titles like Super Mario 3D Worlds, BotW, Splatoon and XCX), Nintendo is really going to have to step up their game this new cycle/gen.
I was playing Astro Bot yesterday and I just keep getting blown away by the creativity and fidelity. If Nintendo manages to craft something akin to that for their new 3D Mario and Kirby games, I might be interested. But they're going to have to step it up.
I'm curious to see if Nintendo can have another BotW style moment and momentum for Switch 2.

I always assumed April would make the most sense so they get an immediate boost for the new fiscal year. Waiting till further down in 2025 means relying on the Switch and I * really* don't think they want to do that at this point.

Don’t care what these shit sources have to say. All I know is that Nintendo has finally realized the importance of a good launch year lineup. The only question is just how many games will be cross-gen and will that help or hurt sales of the new console?

So in 2 months and still no leaks... Mass production start in general a few months before launch, and we have like no leaks from both devs and factories in China. In these days and ages, no one can keep things secret, just saying.

Nintendo is going to capitalize on being the hottest item of next Holiday, releasing in September will cause a craze where everybody needs one now before December and shortages will be all the media will talk about. No way they are throwing that buzz in the toilet by releasing in March. Why kill it with "it's been out a while" ' by releasing in March. April through August will be hype months. Nintendo has been atypically very good to its fanbase considering how old the console is by keeping them busy in the waning year. Plus this a clear holiday season as Microsoft and Sony will have nothing most likely.

Nintendo will reveal the switch 2 when they are ready to. Some rumors are saying December and some rumors are saying January. Let me know when Nintendo decides to reveal the switch 2 I’ll be gaming on my PS5 Pro.

Nintendo does not want the media or anyone talking about shortages. The buzz they want is that the console is good and there are good games for it. The benefit of launching early in the year is that by the holiday season, there are enough games that people have a lot to choose from or a lot to buy.

I don't know, there was that Iwata video with the Amibo where he told you to get your ass to the store before you can't buy these things anymore. (Implying scalpers). I think Nintendo out of good will say they are fighting the scalpers but in reality, they don't care who buys 10 million systems at all while they count the cash in the backroom with visors on and a single lamp above the table. LOL!!!

Some Amiibos were time limited and would not come back after they were sold out, so that's why. Nintendo is doing better than Sony and Microsoft with scalpers. They didn't have to, but they made it so that you needed a Nintendo Online account to buy the first batch of the Alarmo.

Curios, Alarmo's were also offered in the NY Store. Does that mean I could just buy them off the shelf withought proving I was a member? I'm sure they stocked 5 in the store, so it was not a big deal. LOL!!!
