This is why I don’t make $73 million. I tell people one thing and don’t contradict myself. Who knows how this is going to go.
He didn't contradict himself though. It plainly states exclusive content while in the same message says "We are focused on growing the platform and expanding to new ecosystems to engage as many gamers as possible". People are just chopping up pieces of what he said to either create narratives or ignore the message. Nothing has changed from what he said months ago.

Exclusivity need not extend further than brand ownership.

If you have 100% control over the market leading product in its category, what else do you need?

So in this context, owning CoD means they have the exclusive rights to make CoD games, with CoD being the leading product in its category.

There are already [....] topics discussing Nutella's quotes.
I believe this is from the Annual Report, which is different to his letter to Microsoft's shareholders. A couple of interesting take aways:

Growth of our Gaming business is determined by the overall active user base through Xbox enabled content, availability of games, providing exclusive game content that gamers seek, the computational power and reliability of the devices used to access our content and services, and the ability to create new experiences...
Microsoft is highlighting the need for exclsuive content to drive it's gaming business' growth, and calls out the "computational power and reliability" of the devices used to access them.

Gaming – focuses on developing hardware, content, and services across a large range of platforms to help grow our user base through game experiences and social interaction.
Their definitely not leaving the hardware side of things in the near future. They also highlight gaming hardware in their R&D breakdown, so they're definitely still cooking.

Gaming revenue increased $6.0 billion or 39% driven by growth in Xbox content and services. Xbox content and services revenue increased 50% driven by 44 points of net impact from the Activision Blizzard acquisition. Xbox hardware revenue decreased 13% driven by lower volume of consoles sold.
Xbox hardware down 13% YoY, revenue from their services is up 6% YoY, and ABK added 44% to their revenue increase. ABK doubled the size of their gaming business' intake, which is kinda nuts.

(In millions)
Cash and cash equivalents $ 12,976
Goodwill 50,969
Intangible assets 21,969
Other assets 2,501
Long-term debt (2,799)
Long-term income taxes (1,914)
Deferred income taxes (4,677)
Other liabilities (3,617)

Total purchase price $ 75,408
Breakdown of their ABK purchase price. "Goodwill" accounted for $50b of the $75b paid.

Yea even Jez didn’t fall for this. He knew the CEO meant exclusive in a different way than the way gamers use it.

Would it need to be near 90-100% to nearly double it? Is my math not mathing?

Nards doesn't care one bit about the Xbox division or games.
He's a one-issue executive.
All he cares about is AI. Whatever makes enough money for him to keep pursuing his obsession is what Microsoft will be doing.

Play Halo on 4K, 60FPS & RT on PS5 Pro or…

Play Halo on 1800P DRS & 54-58 FPS on Xbox Series X, but Master Chief has a cool hat.

The choice is yours, Gamers®.

Sure, makes sense. Both things can be true; they aren't mutually exclusive. In fact, I think it's wrong to think in all-or-nothing polarities here. It makes perfect sense for MS to keep some games exclusive and also to port games to PS5.

Congrats gokurho gokurho , you just found the same copy paste report from 2022 and 2023.

Yep. Here is the same stuff from 2022. Word for word...

"Our gaming platform is designed to provide a variety of entertainment through a unique combination of content, community, and cloud. Our exclusive game content is created through Xbox Game Studios, a collection of first-party studios creating iconic and differentiated gaming experiences. We continue to invest in new gaming studios and content to expand our IP roadmap and leverage new content creators. These unique gaming experiences are the cornerstone of Xbox Game Pass, a subscription service and gaming community with access to a curated library of over 100 first- and third-party console and PC titles.

The gamer remains at the heart of the Xbox ecosystem. We continue to open new opportunities for gamers to engage both on- and off-console with both the launch of Xbox Cloud Gaming, our game streaming service, and continued investment in gaming hardware. Xbox Cloud Gaming utilizes Microsoft’s Azure cloud technology to allow direct and on-demand streaming of games to PCs, consoles, and mobile devices, enabling gamers to take their favorite games with them and play on the device most convenient to them.

Xbox enables people to connect and share online gaming experiences that are accessible on Xbox consoles, Windows-enabled devices, and other devices. Xbox is designed to benefit users by providing access to a network of certified applications and services and to benefit our developer and partner ecosystems by providing access to a large customer base. Xbox revenue is mainly affected by subscriptions and sales of first- and third-party content, as well as advertising. Growth of our Gaming business is determined by the overall active user base through Xbox enabled content, availability of games, providing exclusive game content that gamers seek, the computational power and reliability of the devices used to access our content and services, and the ability to create new experiences through first-party content creators."
