Modding community making Angela better and better.

Downloaded it before they inevitably delete it for many types of 'isms. I have no problem with new Angela though, she's not a looker or anything but she doesn't need to be.

I just finished it.
Had the 'Leave' ending.
I bought the original on PS2 way back when it came out. I remember the previews on DVDs from magazines for it too but I still never even finished the game. I don't even recall getting that far into it. Maybe I got to the school.

My end result was zero deaths but playing on standard. Game should be played on hard in my opinion. There's so many healing items.

Really good remake. I'd probably put it beside RE2 remake.

That trailer is a fascinating watch, because it's not really all that different than the final game. Maybe except some of the vfx. Just lacking some polish, can't really put my finger on it... This goes to show how big of a part audio plays and the general pace of combat against exploring. Their biggest mistake was the way it was cut and layered with additional ambience and then music, overpowering the sounds of actual combat. The mix is just bad, like how the gun sounds here vs how it sounds in the game. Showing just a regular, unaltered encounter (like in the later trailer that everyone liked, myself included) would make a totally different impression.

This game's atmosphere and sound design are so creepy that just standing in an empty room or a street is scary. This is the first horror game which I've played that actually scares me. Resident Evil, Dead Space and other similar games are fun cause eventually you get so strong via upgrades that killing the enemies becomes amusing, so never felt scared playing those games, but SH2 has my heart racing all the time.

I'm actually surprised how much ammo and health items the game gives you. I explore every corner and I'm packed with ammo and syringes, but I'm still creeped out constantly. Whenever I hear the radio static I tense up.

I got out of the hospital and got a certain key to a building I need to enter. How much more I have left of the game? This definitely feels longer than your average horror game.

Also a question about Maria.
Is there any way to save her from dying at the end of the hospital when you're escaping pyramid head?
I read that if you go see her when she is sick in the hospital, you will get an ending with her, so I never visited her when she fell sick. Once I reunited with her in the other world, she yelled at me for only caring about my wife. Does that also play out the same each time?

My second playthrough will be in 60 fps mode thats for sure. Hopefully with a pro patch, if not, the boost mode atleast should lock it to 60.

Regardless of a Pro or not, this is a game that practically demands a replay just to really fully grasp the themes (for me). I know as soon as I’m done I’ll need some time to decompress, but at the same time I’m already thinking about an immediate replay with familiarity already intact…

I don't need her to look like Lara fucking Croft, I just want her to look like a female.
The thing is, she does look like a female, and she looks more than fine IMO. It helps that she was modeled after the voice actress. The differentiation between all the character's looks make them feel very believable and more real, especially more so than the original. Again, also helps that they were modeled after the actors and actresses...

To each their own, but I don't get the whole obsession with wanting to change her and/or Maria's looks. Or being unhappy with how they look, feels so odd to me personally...

The nurses are scary as shit in this version, jesus.

On another note, do headshots matter? I'm so conditioned I try to go for headshots but does it matter?

They absolutely do matter. A couple headies will put the regular nurses down if not a point blank shotgun blast to the chest.

My whole thing has been melee to kneecap shot and then a beat down

People gotta stop it with the whole "In Water" is the canon ending thing. No it's not.

"In Water" may be some of Team Silent's favorite ending, which to the Japanese is the happy ending because of how they view death differently than people in the West. But preferred =/= canon.

During the fire scene I couldn’t stop studying her face, like what minor changes would make her look less weird? I don’t think that was the developers intention.

I’m doing another RE3 play through and I keep wishing the combat was as satisfying as Silent Hill. Feels like you’re shooting BB guns.

I honestly just never found myself doing that. The way I looked at it, it's much like how I don't/wouldn't look at real people with all kinds of face shapes and wonder the same. They just exist, and that's how it is. Sure, real life =/= a video game, but I think that's what provides a certain layer of believability. At least IMO...

I personally felt like leg shots were best with all enemies, because they'll drop to their knees and you can run up and melee them. It felt effective and helped conserve ammo in most cases.
Had no idea that was a thing...oops.

I've been rushing in and one shotgun blast and then beat them on the ground but I feel like I blew my ammo.

Also that gazebo in the hospital...none of these enemies are for mega tight quarters. Died to that shit and was like...why?

Right. But plenty of people have criticisms over the model and for good reason. She does look off which is why she instantly became a meme.

Played briefly today then stopped as soon as I hit the front doors. It’s just getting to be too much man.

Started watching Se7en for the fiftieth time to tide me over.

Just finished the hospital and saved, Anyway and Aerith scenes downgraded as hell imo but it was awesome apart from that. Otherworld makes everything really scary.
I completely forgot i had a shotgun and wasted almost all the handgun bullets with Flesh Lip boss. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

This game is shockingly good so far, but sweet fuckin goodness, it runs like shit on PC. I’m getting traversal stutters like every 15-30 seconds, especially when outside.

Why are UE5 games so freaking bad on PC? And before anyone claims it’s my hardware, these issues persist on a 7900 + 4090, so my 12900 + 3080 isn’t the problem.

I know stutters don’t bother most people, but it really sucks me out of the game. And in a game like SH2, that’s downright sacrilege. I fucking hate PC gaming so much sometimes.

Please no full spoilers but MAYBE a tiny hint...

I used the mold remover on the last Xray slide, run on up to the Xray room to insert it and...I have no clue what the game wants from me. I've aligned the skull and spine ones with the black marker lines. The other two? No clue. I tried overlaying them to see a secret in the scratched lines, I tried matching the scratched lines to make a pattern. I don't get it. Can someone tell me if having the four slides is enough to solve whatever the hell it wants from me?

You are doing the right thing and you have all you need. Just try to fit them there.

Tiny hint:
Skull all the way to the left, spine all the way to the right.

Tiny extra hint:
The skull is the only one not in landscape.

Just got out of the labyrinth. I’m guessing I’m near the end at this point. Unless this game takes a huge nose dive from here on out, this is easily my GOTY ahead of Astro Bot. Maybe game of the generation even.

The game has i frames though. I was pretty much dodging into the nurse attacks to dodge them and once I got their 3 hit combo down, I rarely got hit.
The mannequins have faster attacks though, so it's harder in tight spots against them. Also, it seems like grab attacks need to be completely dodged.

Overall the combat is actually pretty good. For a studio that has never done combat before, I'm actually shocked how well Bloober managed to pull it off.
It's not perfect though, sometimes in tight corners James' melee attacks don't register properly and sometimes the nurses wind up their iron pipe and slide across the room forward to strike you, but the combat is still much better than I expected it to be.

Made it to the otherworld the first time. In the mood now where I cant play anything else except this and Astro Bot to decompress. Yeah im thinking Im brave enough to play Sh3 after this. Those bloody bunny suits at the beginning always scared me as a kid.

The modder also made one for Maria.
B3YAuqd.jpeg

I think he also shrank her head a little.
kqCcNCi.jpeg

You think? lol

Different angle from James and all that, but look at how much bigger her torso is compared to her head.

Most mods are so bad. But someone somewhere will find them attractive, so to each their own I guess.

Just reached the motel with Maria. I'm having that feeling of "I dont want this game to end, 'cause its too good". Havent felt this way in quite a while.
