Not sure what people were expecting. What they did have was a pretty solid mix of games while saving some of the bigger stuff to dig more into later. The rest amounts to some cranky folks having a double meltdown of a certain game not getting a remake while another one is despite both selling about the same.

I think your inability to understand expectation vs. result is causing the issue here.

A state of play can be "decently good", but if everyone expects every single sony first party studio to announce a new game or show new footage of their games, while also expecting a Bloodborne remaster which is nothing more than a meme at this point, then you can have a result that shows lower grades *despite* the game showcase being quality in aggregate.

Similarly, if nobody expects anything (MS Direct), but gets a surprise like Ninja Gaiden, it can poll highly. And yet The Sony showcase can still show a better lineup of titles. So yes, the polls are largely meaningless.

If a poll shows that most were disappointed, yet most expected tons of Sony first party announcements, what does that say? It just means that the bar for a February state of play was somehow set to absurdly unrealistic levels.

Didn't the majority on here accurately predict Concord's failure? Didn't the game trailers have millions of views, just for the game to peak at 697 on Steam? Even then you have the deniers that those are just "PC numbers" just for Sony to pull the plug.

Does the GAF poll of the Microsoft conference mean that they had a better showing of games than the Sony state of Play just because it has a higher score?

Is Ninja Gaiden 4, Doom, Expedition 33, and South of Midnight a better showcase of games than Saros, Tides of Annihilation, Shinobi, Onimusha, Metal Gear Solid 3, Sonic Racing, Hell is Us, Lost Soul Aside, Lies of P Overture, MindsEye, Monster Hunter Wilds, The Mignight Walk, Directive 8020, etc?

Everyone called out Concord as a failure from day one, you don't have to be Nostradamus to see that game was going to fail hard. That's not an achievement especially when you consider a broken clock is right once a day.

GAF has been parroting western gaming media talking points about how console gaming was on its way out and Sony is inevitably doomed (Nobody wants a PS5 Pro, etc.) only for Sony to post the best quarter in Playstation history with record profits and sales.

I'm not taking it personally. Just logically it doesn't make any sense with a lot of the games shown. I rated it a C+ FWIW, because fuck them every time there is no Bloodborne.
