I'm really looking forward to it though. Won't play it day one but it'll be the first game I play after I finish my Last of Us Part II replay.

Okay, so some early impressions:

POSITIVES:

• The game looks pretty. Visuals are good.
• Looks unique and has its own charm.
• I thought I would not like the stop-motion style, but it's fine.
• Game performance is good.
• The environmental effects are well done.
• I haven't encountered any bugs so far.

NEGATIVES:

• The writing is truly awful. It looks like it was written with AI or by a teenager. The less said about it, the better.
• As it is a platformer, there is a lot of jumping and running in the game. And both running and jumping have atrociously bad animations. So you'll be seeing bad animations for most of the playing time.
• Movement feels very floaty (and not in a good way).
• Cutscenes are 30 FPS, and it always felt jarring going from high FPS to 30 FPS suddenly.
• Some weird QoL oddities. For example, you interact with objects in the game, but the game does not give you back the controls automatically when the interaction is done. You've to press a key. It's a bizarre design choice.
• Early game, but I've already encountered a few forced walking sections.

I didn't say the game itself is racist, i haven't played it, but the people behind it are and, reportedly, some of the design choices in this game were influenced by this.

Not reading all of that. Midnight has a meta of 78 last I checked. He referenced two sites that scored it an 80. Even if Midnight slips to a 75, that’s a 5 point difference. Nowhere near the difference of 56 for Redfall versus whatever XboxEra gave it. Also nowhere near the difference between the 85 meta for Death Stranding and the 100 it got from a PlayStation fan site.

Not to even mention that no one is arguing these fan sites don’t influence scores. I simply pointed out it happens for every console.
