A thread should be created or something. If it's been somewhat modernised to run without a hitch on modern PCs, it should be shouted from the heavens. Also, there's a free Psychonauts iOS app with some cool stuff in it.

It does appear to have native 360 pad support now and they added some anti-aliasing options. Configuring a 360 pad prior to this was fairly ghetto. Button prompts aren't changed.

Not really anywhere to rant about this so I'm going to do it here. If anyone finds themselves tempted to pick up Silent Hill: Homecoming for any reason but worried about all the bad reviews and impressions then go with your gut and skip it. I can't believe how bad this port is, and I was expecting it to be pretty bad.
Here's a little list of amazingnesses:
- Native 360 controller support, except that the QTE button prompts bar X are all the wrong colour, and inexplicably have numbers on them instead of letters.
- Locked to 30fps with no graphical options. There is an ENB mod but it doesn't do much to improve the hideousness of the game.
- Sometimes for no apparent reason my framerate drops to single digits, yet my GPU and CPU are both basically idling the whole time the game is running.
- Hanging. So much hanging. Like I walk into a new area and the game hangs for 30 to 60 seconds. I try to save and the game hangs for 30 to 60 seconds. An in-game cut-scene starts or finishes and the game hangs for 30 to 60 seconds.
- Stupidly long loading times on my 3.4gHz quad core.
And to add insult to injury the game isn't very good either. They tried to implement a combat system which wasn't lame and tank-like, and ended up with something which would probably constitute an improvement if it ever actually worked. The game places a lot of importance on dodging and countering but forgets to tell you that it likes to randomly send you in the opposite direction to the way you're pressing the analog stick meaning you'll get a face full of the attack you were trying to avoid.
Then there's all the little annoyances like the fact that most of the interactive spots in the game are fucking tiny so you have to hump the wall for five seconds every time you want to do something. And it commits the gravest of sins in a game which is continuously foiling your character's progress with random events ("oh noes I fell down another hole/collapsed unconscious for no reason"). I know it's Silent Hill but fucking hell.
Anyway, I'd say this is probably old news to most people but I have a gut feeling that it will go on sale sometime in October given that it's a horror game, and friends don't let friends buy terrible games, no matter how cheap they become.

Should i buy Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition? I never played it at all,i don't really mind graphics as i play titles like ut 99,quake,etc. The game seems to have lots of item collecting which i like.

It is an interesting idea but the learning curve is steep for the commander aspect of it and the community is tiny, which is probably more of a serious problem for you finding a decent match to play in. I don't really see any serious interest in this game, no one is championing it, I don't see any potential for it to grow. Nuclear Dawn will likely suffer the same fate as games like Lead & Gold.

I installed steam on my ssd and witcher 2, i wanted to move my games i download to my other 7200 rpm hardrive, can i do it and still be able to open the game in steam? or do i have to reinstall steam onto that harddrive?

Hmm, I'm not loving the controller support for Psychonauts. Everyone knows about 360 analog stick and how they start to drift after a little while, but this game doesn't account for this so there are times when my camera AND the character on screen start moving on their own.
Now that the controller support in it's also harder to get it set up for Xpadder. Hopefully I can find a way around these issues, but it's kinda annoying to play at the moment. It did just download a little 4MB update so maybe that fixed some of these things. (fingers crossed!)
