I think they didn’t put as much work into the face because we won’t be seeing the face as much as the other asset from the back (which the developers said they made that way on purpose)

It does not because the model was only scanned for the body. The dev in the interview stated that they created Eve's face firstly then invited Shin for the body scanning.

Current progressivism is so confused. We live in an age where hyper-sexualisation is glorified, to the point that women are getting cosmetic surgeries that carry risk all the way up to death to attain unrealistic physical attributes.
On the other hand, videogames and actually fictional "geek stuff" (that all just happen to mostly appeal to males) is ridiculed and targeted for sexualisation. Nevermind that male gamers also don't want to play as men that don't adhere to ideal or unrealistic aesthetic standards.

Meh. Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, people are attracted to attractive people! Even the people who think they are ugly as shit want someone good looking. A lot of the general hate towards attractive women and men is usually by people who are jealous. The solution there is to work on yourself instead of being petty.
That said, I do agree that women have been sexually objectified in games in the past (men have too but on a lesser scale overall). I don't know of there's a solution to it because sex sells.

I think that's more on the studios and not at the executive level. That's why I think Sony should acquire more Asian devs, because they haven't been infected by the mind virus yet. Jimbo didn't need to tell Neil Druckmann to create ugly women in his games. Western devs know to do it inherently because they know creating sexy characters would earn them backlash from the Reee crowd.
