It's hilarious watching the West being aghast when the Koreans know exactly what is going on instead of needing the Maximegalon Institute of Slowly and Painfully Working Out the Surprisingly Obvious (MISPWOSO) to figure out the surprisingly obvious

You get points for the Hitchhikers refence.

There is Deluxe Edition? or is it only digital?

Also other than Eve herself I really like some of the NPC's character designs, the art direction in this game pretty damn solid.

I guess Digital Deluxe only. Can’t find a physical copy of it.

So Kojima bad for those poorly directed cutscenes highlighting the B&B's butts in MGS4 but Stellar Blade good because ???

I get it. Shes hot. And I like the honesty.

But to me its fucking stupid.

I cant take your game seriously when some 5'2 hot as fuck girl in heels and a mini skirt is beating up giant alien monsters. Takes me right out of it. And makes the game seem dumb.

Its why I cant get into the whole anime action style games. Way too much of that corny shit.
Then any game with a female protagonist would take you out of it. No woman is going to go around whooping up on men, or aliens.

21 years in the Marine Corps training MCMAP 3 days a week, 52 weeks a year and never have I seen one female Marine beat, submit, take down and put down a male Marine.

We aren’t talking about reality here, you are already suspending disbelief even if she outfitted in full combat loadout with deuce gear, plates, etc. It is a video game bud and men and women want sexy protagonists no matter what.

It’s reasons like this why we NEED Japanese, Korean and Asian developers in general working in the gaming industry. They are not afraid to think outside the box and go against the norm. Their games generally offer things other developers cannot or will not do. It could even be jealousy for reasons I won’t go into now. It’s a shame he has to explain himself though. Let developers and creators create the games and visions they want to make. If people don’t like it, just don’t buy it.

in a perfect world.....no scratch that in a normal world devs shouldn't have to explain to ANYONE! Devs should be free to design their own games however the fuck they want.

I see this will be a “quadruple A” game.
4th A for “dat Ass”

Maybe that's the joke, but I love how the protection chamber is apparently just ... going outside lol.
It’s actually in the cellar I believe, if I remember the video correctly

I used to think the same way. Then woke culture happened, and I cursed the day I got my wish.

I mean, we're playing with the cards dealt. It's the fact that the people who don't like it aren't stopping at disliking it, they are actively infiltrating companies and preventing those that DO enjoy it from having anything to consume, at least on a mid to high budget.

Erasure and censoring of an idea goes beyond "it ain't it for me,"

This made me smile in it's absurdity. It's video games dude, do you think you playing any video game makes the act of playing them actually less dumb? I have played video games for 38 years now. Every single year I laugh more at people taking this hobby seriously.

Video games are a complete waste of time. They are here to entertain us. That's why I still play video games even though the games are absolutely fucking dumb and the less seriously the game takes itself, the better. But I guess we live in an era where people are taking superheroes seriously.

If a game keeps me entertained, I laugh or I find it fun, then it's worth playing. If a beautiful and sexy babe rubs her ass makes me laugh and enjoy the game, the game is doing exactly what it's supposed to do. Same as Goat Simulator (laughs had), Mario RPG (laughs had), F-Zero (raging and laughing had), J-RPGs (laughing for their stupidity had) etc.

It's like saying at the yard to the other boy that his chinese-market bought My Little Pony with a chainsaw in hand is less cooler than your authentic He-Man, having the gnarly pirated MLP makes the play seem dumb and takes you out of it.

Yeah people who whine about le heckin' artistic merit of video games make me roll my eyes. This medium has very little potential for that imo, it's almost pure entertainment. I can't help but think those that champion such ideas are just too stupid or lazy to pick up a book or survery the history of art.

I wonder what the narrative on the Other Site would be if the protagonist was actually a trans woman, who used they/them pronouns ...

I imagine it would be declared the most important game of the generation.

Maybe your username is still available at ResetEra?

Jesus Christ..... Videogames aren't all meant to be realistic. If its not for you fine, but this is some next level whining about nothing.

I honestly feel that it's so dumb that a dev have to explain such things. Also it almost feel like it's something problematic or wrong that a video game character can look pretty or sexy, specially in an era where there real "issues" like innocent people are being killed just because of their ethnicity, race or religions.

Like get over it, people that don't like Stellar Blade or have issues with it just move on and play another game, instead of trying to question "why this why that" like hypocrites rats.

Anyway can't wait this is gonna be very fun game.
The dev doesn't has to, but it's a smart move to use this momentum of attention for marketing - and it works.

The director of upcoming action RPG Stellar Blade says that one of the game's most distinctive marketing beats exists because of the "special attention" put into the reverse side of the lead character's model.

Speaking to GamesRadar+, game director Hyung-Tae Kim (via translator) discussed the character design of protagonist Eve. That design, built around the body scan of Korean model Shin Jae-eun, has been a focus of Stellar Blade's early trailers, and while we now know much more about Eve, Kim suggests that that's deliberate.

"When it comes to the design, we put special attention on the back of the character because the player is always facing the back of the character when they're playing," he said. "That's what they see the most of, so we thought this was pretty important.

The game would still be canceled because of something minor they didn't like. That's the problem when trying to please a minority of crazy people, they're always going to find something to be offended about.

This is the next Hogwarts then. Reviews starting with a page of bullshit about how the creator is ‘gross’ and how the reviewer struggled like a martyr with reviewing the game.
People will buy this game just to make a statement.
It's brilliant and, if successful, could set a whole new (old) trend where sexy protagonists are back in fashion.

It has absolutely no sense of community beyond the fact that they all seem to hate one another, and constantly aim to get everyone banned.

It does however have a large number of perpetually online personality vacuums who spend all day on X and Discord gathering scraps of information, so news does hit fast, but no decent conversation can be had.

I guess is pretty normal life 1.90 strong men beating down giant aliens... in fact.. only giant aliens beating down giant aliens would mantain my belief in reality.

Honestly, the industry has a problem balancing out its creative pursuits. There should be space for games with both grounded and serious elements as well as lighthearted and unserious elements. Variety is the spice of life.

The western counterpart swung way too hard in one direction, while completely trashing legitimacy for the other, which is causing imbalance and homogeneity.

Exactly. All western games now must have uglified girl bosses otherwise it is bad. It's like watching Game of Thrones and all female characters look and act like Bryanne of Tarth. What made her special was her rarity and uniqueness, compared to the other women.
