Street Fighter VI |OT| VI is for VICTORY

To put it lightly - absolutely not a fan of this design of hers. She looks more like an NPC cosplayer from the game's open world and I just can't see similar love and care put into her model and design like the did with Mai and other female characters. They should've gone for her original hair style as well.

I'm not a big fan of it either honestly. Her hair looks like it's thinning on top, and she kinda resembles a generic character they just turned brown. The stage looks insane though, I'll give them that.

Elena looks weird (bad).
Again we have a dude on a wig instead of giving a femenine face structure and body proportions to a female character. She even has Adam's apple, lol. Capcom should drop the SBI involvement or whatever woke censor they work with.

No complaints at all.
Yeah, but I'd have replaced Ingrid with Fei Long, Geki, Sodom, Haggar or Maki. But well, they can always introduce them in a future season.

I'm surprised there isn't a guest tied to it, unless there is a secret guest attached (at a stretch you might say Ingrid).
I think SF6 already had enough guest characters with the Fatal Fury ones. I think they should focus now to bring back characters from past Street Fighter games and Final Fight.

If they want to add some extra guest character, I'd get them from related Capcom games included in the SF universe via their canon or the X-Men/Marvel crossover games (Rival Schools, Captain Commando, Strider, Slam Masters or Darkstalkers).

As an example, Sakura's high school is one of the Rival School ones. Captain Commando's game is set in a future Metro City, Zeku from SFV (Guy's master) is the first Strider, and the Slam Masters and Street Fighter series have several cross references and lore connections.

So after seeing who's coming in Season 3, I've been thinking a lot about who I want to see in Season 4 based on characters I not only liked playing in the past the most, but also based on their art design, their playstyle and whether they'll fit in SFVI.

And of course I'd like to start with R. Mika. Like, Duh!

OMG, she's so incredible, the design, the personality, the hair style and stuff... what's not to lov...

So, here's my Season 4 wishlist:messenger_beaming:

1) Vega
2) Poison
3) Ibuki
4) Sakura

This take is insane. 'Are you paying even the slightest amount of attention?' insane.

The last character added to the game is Mai Shiranui, a fighting game sex icon who leans over when she's fighting showing off her cleavage while sporting a very lightly designed 'kunoichi' outfit and whose victory outros include a sensually delivered line about how hard you made her work and a playful warning to watch where you're looking (while he boobs are front and center). And whose design is nigh immaculate on striking a balance between cute and sexy.

If you've got any complaints with the design - I'm still on the fence - it's more likely the design team just whiffed. They've certainly missed before, and recently, with Terry's face which looks chubbier than it does seasoned.

I suggest you steer clear of the anti-woke kool-aid for a bit. There are not ghosts around every corner.

It isn't insane, I simply have eyes and brain.

I'm not talking about Mai. With her they may have done an exception because of being a collaboration and the Saudi sheik who rules SNK may have mandated to make her look good or something like that.

I'm talking about Elena, who looks like a man in this game because artists -knowing what they were doing- did gave her male body traits on purpose, following the pattern seen in other characters and in this and other games of making women more ugly and androginous and less attractive on purpose (not the case of Mai), because of woke censorship.

Terry's face is ugly too. But I think that is another topic has more to do with the talent of whoever artist modelled him.

Should have knew this with cover ups and changes to resident evil , and the capcom leak where documents where released of internal documents about how capcom need to be more like western developers going forward with female characters and not have them to revealing , the thing with mai is if they changed her to much there would have been uproar, especially since she in new fatal fury game , after the initial costumes for cammy for the game, outfits 2+3 have been more cover up, not to say I don't like some of them, but there is no question capcom removes or covers stuff in today's games

What is this forum's obsession with the idea that every game character (especially women) must look like they walked straight off a Victoria's Secret runway?

You're dodging bullets, throwing hands, or saving the world, and somehow the most important thing is whether you'd swipe right on the character? It's wild how fast "this isn't my type" turns into "woke propaganda" like the game personally offended your dating app.

"This character isn't hot enough for me" isn't a valid critique, it's just you confusing game design with your Tinder feed

The worst thing of this woke stuff is to see brain rot sheep people defending and buying the bullshit of this woke propaganda narrative.

Idiots that act as if there was something wrong or bad in appealing, good looking and charismatic character designs, or even in heterosexuality in general, and people wanting that instead of the forced ugly and weird androginous designs.

The funniest thing about your rant is how desperately you want your personal preferences to sound like some noble fight against "woke propaganda"

It's not a war on heterosexuality or appealing characters. It's just that not everything is about you, and not every character is built to give you a hard on. Maybe try engaging with a game for its gameplay and story instead of losing your mind because a character wasn't drawn to match your porn preferences

Amazing how people got to resort to preferences about porn or hard on etc just cause people want to see nice characters in games not male build females, I've been gaming since I was 8 and now in my 50s don't think I've ever thought or got off on a character, yet I love cute character designs, when do you see ugly male designs

Ah, so now it's about "cute character designs" and "never getting off on a character"?

Funny, because in the original post the user was crying about women looking too androgynous, not feminine enough, or not attractive

That's not just liking "nice designs", that's projecting your personal aesthetic preferences and calling it a design flaw when games don't cater to it

Everyone is allowed a opinion, are you gonna call everyone who bought Stellar blade cause you think they all bought it cause the character is attractive and the outfits revealing, in all my life of gaming I can't imagine anyone getting off to a character, are you not projecting yr views by calling this person out cause they don't go along with yrs

Yes, everyone's allowed an opinion, and I'm allowed to call it out when that opinion reeks of entitlement and selective outrage. Just don't act shocked when someone pushes back. That's how discussion works.

And no, I don't think everyone who bought Stellar Blade did so for the character's looks, but let's not kid ourselves. That game's marketing leaned heavily into her design. It was intentional, and people talked about it. That's not projection, that's reality.

Disagreeing with someone and explaining why isn't projection. It's literally how opinions work

If something you're the desperate one or the one losing his mind, making stupid and retarded references to Victoria's Secret, Tinder or porn, my supposed personal references, etc.

Moronic personal attacks that highlight that you can't properly debate to explain why you think players can't dislike the forced inclusion of androginous characters design / make female characters manly, ugly and unatractive on purpose. And yes, some major investors force DEI inclusion as they publicly said. In case of Capcom, Blackrock via JP Morgan Chase.

Terry's face is ugly too. But I think that is another topic has more to do with the talent of whoever artist modelled him.

This is why I say to stick off the kool-aid.

"I don't like the new character design and it looks too male to me, so the game must be woke."
"The game is woke, so the last extremely sexy character added to the game must have been designed that way because of some external directive (don't need sources)."
"Yeah, the design team's proven they're imperfect with Terry, but that doesn't need to be considered as part of the whole. There are tons of woke designs in the game elsewhere. It's pervasive! (don't need to provide a model with examples)."
Also, "Woke is this particular thing I don't like and I'm using the term as a substitute for cynical or misguided game design philosophies," but I'm gonna try to stay focused.

It also misses why I called the take insane, because it ignores the most obvious considerations in the foreground, and there's no sobriety in your response. You're not like, "Oh, yeah, Mai's in the game. That was so stupid of me not to consider for my post this extremely obvious and recent thing that everyone would see first because it's recent and actually in the game." or "You're right. I should have mentioned Mai first because of how front and center she is. Here's this source that establishes a connection between her and a directive to design her in this way." Instead you're immediately off to gesturing at a supposed mandate and shouting about a (non-established) pattern of wokeism in the game. I can't take that seriously.

Same deal really. You're pointing vaguely at some document somewhere (and I have heard of this, but I'm not pulling it up when you haven't bothered), leaping to 'being more like western developers when that file was released = being 'woke' now', and also that 'Mai couldn't be changed because there would have been an uproar' without taking into account other considerations. The so-called woke mind virus is a foundational pillar of its design philosophy. It wouldn't have moved in a direction that would have resulted in such a crisis because it would have been dismissed the idea during planning. "What if we include some SNK characters in our game, like Mai?" "No, the rights holders would never allow us to cover her up with clothes and not say sexy things."

As for Cammy, her classic outfit is literally in the game, for free, and her new default outfit still shows off her figure. She's exchanged showing off her arms and legs to showing off her midriff with a cropped top, and she's still wearing skin-tight pants that show off her legs if not her skin directly. But, like, I'm arguing surface area of skin at this point and thinking, "Am I really doing this right now?" The character still shows off the litheness of her form during super animations; her victory outro has you looking up at her (butt) as she looks back and down at you. Capcom gets it.

What is this forum's obsession with the idea that every game character (especially women) must look like they walked straight off a Victoria's Secret runway?

Not everybody and not to that extreme. I liken it to a corner of GAF I rarely step into, like console warriors.

Some of it is reactionary too, but fairly so. 'Players like looking at attractive designs' is an ethos I can get behind, and I do believe that some developers have lost the read on what people want, so people are right to be upset, but some fans also take it too far or just out themselves as being kinda gross.

===

Edit: This is it for me, compadres. I draw the line on internet warrioring on good faith discussion. If I don't feel that a response is considering what I said as a whole, I rarely respond as I don't think it's worth it, so keep that in mind. I've actually gone further today than I usually do anymore.
