Street Fighter VI |OT| VI is for VICTORY

It's the million dollar gimmick. But yeah, Capcom should give this gimmick up going forward and have a better split.

I can see why they'd want to portray that from a marketing perspective, but I don't see why they can't just say "million dollar prize pool" which is still good.

Third day's code. This one's for Terry.

One more thing: There's an event code for a free Mai color today.

If you've never gotten one of these before, you can use the code in-game by opening 'Options' and then the 'Game' tab. 'Input event code' appears at the bottom of the list.
Do I have to of claimed this two days ago or do you think I could claim it now? I really like the color but I wasn't keeping up with this at all, bummed if I missed it.

You can claim it now. You have til March 9th 6:59 PST to claim it. Also for reference even if you don't have the characters that are getting the colors here, you can still claim these and the colors will be there if you end up buying the dlc character later.

Kakeru saves Tokido! Alright Tokido if you win this somehow, you gotta share some of that bread with Kakeru:messenger_tears_of_joy:. Throw some bread towards ZangiefBolado too.:messenger_tears_of_joy:

Top 16 been hype so far(thru the Takamura/Shuto match as of this post). Japan crowd been really into it.

Blaz is goated for this. The people he straight ran over to get here(outside of Kakeru of course). Definitely watching his matches in top 16 again today. Got himself at least 100k.

Man he was right there, just missed a few times and that's all it takes. Had me thinking what could have maybe been if he had stayed with Ryu the first time. That kid still got a cool 100k and was really fun to watch. It's great seeing the father support too.:goog_smile_face_eyes: Kakeru has officially grossed over 1.4 million dollars playing Street Fighter 6. Damn.

Any news about when Mai stage will be out? I almost have enough currency to buy two remaining stages (Bison and Akuma) already, but holding on until they'll release Mai stage so that I can buy it first cuz it's goddamn fantastic.

I was out for work and then at a friend's to watch the finals on VOD. Props to Blaz for coming so close to making an amazing comeback. I'd pegged Kakeru and Shuto as my favorites, and both of them were the only players to give Blaz any trouble on his way through the bracket (and in groups too, since Blaz did go 5-0 there). All around fantastically solid and responsive play.

Also, there's a fifth skin Capcom dropped for CPT on the last day for the SFL finals. I'm going to check out the VOD I think because why not. Here's the code. It's for DeeJay, surprisingly.

What a fantastic tournament! Watched almost all of it, just great games all around. Sad team USA choked (but let's be real…it was expected) for SFL finals.

Looking forward to the prize pools for this year with all the "partnerships" Capcom is working on. Saudi money ftw?!?

Lesson I learned today: Apparently there are win streak bonuses in ranked for earning 10+ wins in a row. This had apparently been a feature in lower ranks but was implemented in Diamond at some point. I earned a 1000+ points in this match and then another 1000+ for my 11th win before losing my next and plummeting back to earth (relatively speaking). Still cruised past 23k tonight on Gouki.

PS: I'm in low rank because of terrible placement matches. I went 3-7. The scariest players in the game are Plat 5s. You have no idea what they'll do! And they're just hardened (and desperate) enough to be annoying in one way or the other.

Six.

Akuma's easy sauce. Once you get past the beginner level 'spam 5HK and hope they don't duck', although it's still a great move to throw in. Akuma is reliant on getting a read on how your opponent wants to defend and then using his wide array of tools to pry them open. Throw into DR mixups is the ideal most of the time, where I could go for another throw or wait extra long to throw in a very meaty 6HP into hearty 2MP xx DR 6HP, 2HP xx whatever (HK Tatsu at midscreen, OD/HP Adamant Flame in the corner for more followups/if I have level 3).

Ideal poke range is for 5HP into fireball or AF; 2MK suffices ofc for its superior range but the heavier scaling hurts and I'd rather just go fishing with one of Akuma's other buttons for a counter hit; plus 5HP stops jumps, all as is typical for shotos. For light pokes, usually I'd do something harmless like 2LP, 2MP xx fireball and then press from there. Preferred jumping forward button is HP as HK is too slow; for neutral jumps MK is better as a stop sign.

Demon flip into chop is my preferred variation for DF followups based on how people played in ladder; the kick is really space dependent (although I landed a handful of juicy counterhits into 2MP) and I could seldom get away with empty DF into throw since people press buttons a lot. Teleport into command throw is consistently a great finisher - I know I just said 'people like pressing buttons' but the contexts where you can get away with command throws are plentiful and available.

Anyway, Akuma's great, which I think everybody already knew. The 9k health handicap doesn't feel like much of one when you're routinely dishing out 3k+ damage combos, even with lower damage potential starters, and Akuma's just so cool to use. He's kinda like Luke in that you can meld your combos to do whatever you want as you go, even if you fuck up, only Akuma's not a lame dweeb like Luke is.

Elena looks weird (bad).

S3 leak sounds alright. Neither amazing nor bad. Actually, I'm surprised there isn't a guest tied to it, unless there is a secret guest attached (at a stretch you might say Ingrid).

Damn they really holding out a character(Elena) just so they can seemingly launch her alongside the Switch 2 launch of the game. Which looks like it means the capcom pro tour is going to start on the season 2 and be 2 premiers into it before season 3 starts. Crazy work. In terms of the character leak, im pretty happy with it as it at least has 2 characters ive been wanting to see again in Street Fighter(C. Viper and Ingrid). Well Ingrid is more of an intrigue thing than excitement, I want to see what they will do with her.

I wish they weren't holding Elena until the Switch 2 launches sigh, I play SF6 on PC. I plan to get a Switch 2 but I'll be busy with Mario Kart and stuff on June 5th.

Probably holding her but I doubt for long.

Turnaround on SF6 characters has trended on the long side. The longest was Ed at 5 months, and then Mai at 4 and a half. 4 months for Elena wouldn't be out of the norm. Comparatively she's coming out 2 weeks after Akuma did last year. I wouldn't be surprised if she'd have been on track for a late May release and Capcom decided to delay for just a couple weeks to coincide with the Switch 2 launch. Doesn't seem especially egregious.

Combo Breaker might have missed her, EVO Japan too (albeit slightly less likely). CEO will have <2 weeks with her out, the only real loss by my measure. Oh well. The highlight for me is that she'll still be available for 2 months before the real big stage (Evo USA). Not that we wouldn't have sufficient practice time bar any crazy bad time tables; we'd be in season 3 by then for sure. I guess it doesn't seem that huge a deal to me. There's plenty of time.
