We´re on about power baselines here. Ofc the Switch can run antyhing that released on PS4.
Even if we assume ps6 coming in 2027(unlikely, sony gonna need 3nm node, holidays 2028 is way more likely) then we for sure still getting 2years of crossgen period, likely crossgen gonna prevail till around 2030.Isn't ps7/xbox5 supposed to come out until 2027? How that guarantees 6 years ahead?

For PS5 I agree, it'll have cross-gen support for a good while after the ps6 is released. For Series S/X I expect the platform to be dropped earlier. Hardware sales are already dead. I would be very surprised for the Series to still be supported in 6 years time.PS6 is likely Nov 2028
Then expect a good couple of years of cross-gen taking us into 2031.
Like you leaving out the part of the "maxing out PCs" only happening due to features that never were in the console versions? Or the part where the game was literally half finished at release and now runs actually pretty ok on last gen? This is quite some PS4 game to do this with. The one everyone said should have been a next gen only game because PS4 performance was so bad, while others validated getting 4090s to max it out. There's a bit of nuance missing here.
Maybe developers will start targetting Switch 2 specs as their main console and stop going down the bottomless pit that is chasing graphics. Lots of profits to be had.
Actually, in France, it looks like it will be a record at launch. But who knows what will happen with the global economic situation (thx Trump).I think the Switch 2 might actually be a flop
What "gaming handhelds"? Steam Deck is less powerful than Switch 2. And other gaming handhelds are just PC devices, the games are not optimized at all. Did you see how Street Fighter 6 or Cyberpunk look on Steam Deck and on Switch 2? The footage we saw is not even final for Switch 2.We are seeing games that run fine on Series S but struggle on gaming handhelds already.
We'll see.Silent Hill, Space Marine, Remnant 2 and the like all run poorly or are unplayable on Switch 2 spec devices
In handheld mode, on which everything has to run, the Switch 2 is nowhere near the S, and that box already struggles heavily with a lot of games. There will be a lot more "on all platformas bar switch" announcements and potato-ports.

The memory bandwidth is significantly lower though.Doesn't the Switch 2 have more RAM than the Series S? I'm sure it will be easier for Larian to port BG3 to the Switch 2 than all the hurdles they had to overcome for the Series S.
The memory bandwidth is significantly lower though.
uh...was that ever in question? The faster storage alone is a huge pro here, but beating out 2012 hardware is not really the bar after what has been going on in the handheld sector these last few years, is it?The takeaway is that if Switch 2 can competently run this game 7 weeks after devkits went out, it implies a higher power ceiling than PS4
Was that the problem with that port being delayed though or was it the scarce amount of RAM?
Is having ~15% more ram going to make up for memory bandwidth that's only 30-45% of Series S?...
Only need 1080p textures.With 64GB cartridges?![]()
Steam Deck and Xbox Series S have been a boon to lower-end gaming. People are blasting higher requirements, and for good reason.
Especially RT being required in some games is fucking baffling. I have a somewhat capable 1080p/1440p machine but this it beyond insane.
like they targeted the Series S?

150 million switch sales later no AAA games targeting that system, but Switch 2 will totally be different......How many XSS have been sold in comparison to Switch?
