The BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger Official Thread [360/PS3] - Be Ready for the Rebel

So if I look around in Toronto tomorrow - could I possibly find a copy?

1. It's releasing on July 1st in Canada
2. EB Games is the only place you can get the game if you are looking for local pickup/look-out. Best bet is to preorder it cause this game has no French boxart localization that is a must for Canadian copies and this will run out real fast.

I talked to the guy at EB the other day and he said his computer said it was out on the first as well. He then laughed and said they would be closed on the 1st. I'll go to my local store tomorrow and preorder it. There are a couple of other haunts I could find this at but I don't know how lucky I would be to actually snag it before anyone else.

Preordering can't be stressed enough. I know quite a few of you are normally against it for whatever reason, but it actually really helps the developers. Preordering lets retail stores gauge the hype levels for games. So the more preorders they get, the more copies they'll buy, which really helps developers, especially small ones like ASW/Aksys. Plus, with niche games like BlazBlue, if you don't preorder the game you might run into trouble getting a copy if you wait a few days.

Video Games plus should have it as well.

Is Aksys just not going to do bilingual covers? I couldn't find a copy of the new Jake Hunter game anywhere and had to order it online, and I expect it's because they didn't do any dual language packaging.

I don't want have to order all future games I want from them online at an additional cost because they won't provide the proper packaging.

Just got back. I guess EB is still taking pre-orders since I didn't have a problem putting my 5 dollars down. I just hope they get enough copies shipped to them. :D

When I preordered Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus they took my 5 dollars and then didn't call me until a month after the game was released. :/

What!? :lol

Well, I'll be going down there a day or two after it's supposed to release to see what's up. Not calling you for a month just seems ignorant on their part.

Canada? I had no issues preordering from GameStop on AC+ here in the US.

So I just finished playing about 3 hours with my friends. All I can say is "WOW"...I love everything about this game. First lets talk about the presentation. It's really clean and looks great! Everything is simple and too the point. I played a bit of Single player and it was alright.

Getting back into "guilty gear" mode (the only thing that pops into my head) was a little hard at first since I've been playing so much SF4. After I settled down, it started to click. I just have to really sit down and figure out a few characters. So far I'm all about fast poking characters!

When we played vs. and got into the thick of it. It's funny that the characters I like are all the weak characters.

More fun will be had tomorrow when I'm home and have my internet (I'm staying at my Fiances house tonight since it's her University grad tomorrow).

Yup. I eventually found it at another location and cancelled my preorder when they finally called me. They just never got it in for a whole month. :/ I'll definitely preorder BlazBlue this weekend though in hopes that I'll get it by the end of the week. :D

Looking now, my Accent Core Plus came without any French manual. Aksys hates the French.

You and me both. I do not like this "waiting" thing one bit.

Tekken 6 though. A week before release is gonna be a billion times worse. B-b-b-b-billions! But this game I want badly. Baaaaadly. The live feeds make it...oiy. I should really stop watching them and start studying characters on Dustloop.

Just ordered Blazblue on Amazon, and I can't freakin wait. My friend and I were totally into GGXX and I'm hoping that Ragna kicks as much butt as Sol. The story mode sounds really awesome. I dumped a bunch of hours into GGXX#R's branching stories. Tuesday can't come soon enough.

it's funny, the closer it is to release the calmer I'm becoming
must be SFIV's siren song calling me back

BB is still so bought/day one/both platforms, etc.

I am much more a fan of the more grounded-fighters like SF, KOF, etc. And I know I sound like a broken record by now, but the net code and online options in BB are so damn good that it makes me want to play the game more than SF4 now. It will spoil you. :lol

I might pick this up sometime soon. I played a bit of it in arcades and it seemed cool enough. Didn't put enough time in to understand the game completely but it was still fun.

All of my friends are completely done with SFIV, to the point of calling it garbage (some tourney players, ultra stuff, etc etc) but they're loving the shit out of BB arcade. Part of the reason why I'm biting the bullet on this.

Any word on the PS3 version? It's not gimped is it? My sticks (HRAP3 SA and FS3) are on the PS3 so it's basically the only choice I have.

it's not gimped, it has more features than the 360 one actually.

When SF4 came out I just figured the online from HD remix was just too hard to do, but seeing what blazblue has done made me a bit angry at sf4s online when playing it last night lol. Im really excited about blazblue even though i dont know much about it.

holy fucking shit...i just watched the gametrailers gameplay montage and this game is 100% bought

i knew absolutely nothing about it before this morning. i randomly clicked the IGN Review thread and read the glowing review. This looks way more fun than SF4

You know, I don't often buy fighting games, but I am a sucker for soundtracks, and with a decent amount of store credit and free overnight shipping, and the great review, I am going to throw caution to the wind for this and get it.

No shit I was thinking the same thing...what is your excuse now Capcom??? And the fact that so far it seems that online isn't getting reworked for the second iteration....how fucking lazy.

Which version are you guys getting? Maybe someone can put gamer tags/psn ids in the first post. PS3 for me, ID is hippopotamus

Gamestop has officially hit my last nerve.
While I could get the game with no tax and free shipping at Amazon, instead I decide that I want the artbook so I order this from gamestop.com.
Now I find out that they are out of artbooks so I will not be getting one (alot of people won't).
It is crazy how much of a pain they make it to cancel an order too.

Any idea what the best deal is for a European gamer? I'd like to get the limited edition but when I tried ordering it on Amazon that gave me the awesome total price of 113 dollars. Considering I'm probably buying the EU Xbox version if it ever hits, I'm really not willing to pay that much for one game.

Pain? You log onto the site, go to my orders and hit cancel.

Yeah but if you cancel it stays in the system...
I will explain.
I had an order in a bit ago, had a code for free low end shipping.
They had a thing starting a couple of days ago where they have free over night, so I canceled the one (you can not just update code) and tried to put in a new order with the new promo code and it said no.
(BB is limited to one per customer for some reason).
So I called and the girl said that it stays in there, and she could do the order over the phone but they cannot use promo codes over the phone so I will have to pay shipping.
I asked if they could just clear the one out so that I could resubmit and she checked with someone else and then said no.
She also said that I would not get the artbook because they were over ordered and she said that my old order would have been the same and that alot of people would not be getting them. (She said if it shows "backordered" on your order status for the book they will not get them)

So...I ordered at Amazon for $2 less, free two day shipping and also saved $5 on tax.

On the bright side, this means that preorders are likely exceeding Aksys's expectations!

Wow, I canceled my order at Amazon last night for gamestop.com With tax and free overnight from Gamestop its still $5 cheaper than amazon's tax free but pay for over night shipping :D That and I've had too many times where Amazon doesn't ship on time.

I recall seeing other European posters mentioning in the past that they would order from videogameplus.ca. But if you're buying the XBox version you would probably be best off waiting for an EU release, the 360 version is region locked.

Yep, here.

Game is "preorder ships..." and artbook is "pending". Means I should get it, heck, I ordered 4/18 so I better should :D

@Nils: Yeah, videogamesplus.ca is the right place. 77,5CDN including shipping tranlastes to a measly €48, less than an official EU release!!!

I know, but i'm thinking of double dipping. As far as I've heard there's no official word yet on a EU release. Thanks for the site suggestion though, I'll check it out.

Still showing "Backordered." :( Game still shows "Pre-order, ships 6/30/09;" hopefully it'll ship in time for release day so my online order won't be COMPLETELY pointless. I'm glad the game's initial sales are doing so well, though.

I've ordered from VG+, and know an awful lot of others have too.

Can't wait, and the pal situation is a joke.
