The BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger Official Thread [360/PS3] - Be Ready for the Rebel

WOOT! My copy was delivered first thing in the morning :D

Just one problem, I'm stuck at work till 5PM. Then I'm running around with the fiance. I'll be on later though for sure.

None of the people who flocked to Ken did so because he's a good character.

errr...why? It's the most irritating "feature" ever.

what? it's an awesome feature. You can turn it off and on in SF4 you know. It's better than sitting in a lobby waiting. I can be playing arcade mode waiting for a match. Best lobby system I know of :D

Any reviews on how well remote play works?

just got the game today. had a lot of fun with Noel. online was really slow in the beginning but when the match started everything went smooth. Going to need to practice more. I barely won my first ranked match.

Is anyone playing this with a standard controller on either platform?

I'm not a hardcore fighting game player at all. But this game looks so pretty... I'm just not willing to buy a stick for it. Will I be able to execute moves reliably?

Yeah. I'll be using a standard controller for myself (PS3 version here).

Hey this game has an EO mode, FYI

Man it kinda sucks that most of my homeboys are getting it for the 360. Odd thing is the guys I want to fight the most for casual/rivalry matches sake are getting the PS3 version.

That's because there is a general PS3 bias in the fighting game community. More controller options, ease of controller conversion + presence at western tournies.

Sales might be higher on 360, but good competition will be viable on both platforms.

hmm, I wasn't aware of this. So PS3 versions of fighters aren't the normal tourney format huh? If you could link me somewhere I'd appreciate it for curiosities sake

If you can settle with a pad on any other fighting games than you shouldn't have too much problem on BlazBlue. Pads also have their own advantage this time around, because you can execute specials with the right-analog stick, kind of like Capcom vs SNK 2 EO. That won't do you any good online since people will undoubtedly disable the feature there, but it'll work good for the single player.

You might also want to think about one of the MadKatz Fight Pads. Not just for BlazBlue, but it works great for other 2D games. I've been using mine lately for Bionic Commando Rearmed.

I think you're misinterpreting my post. I'm saying PS3 is the defacto standard at most if not all major western tourneys.

Be wary about the PS3 pads, mine is awful and doesn't work correctly at all.

Really? Are problems that common? My 360 pad seems to work fine.

On a personal note, I'd hate to try and play this game on the PS3 with a DualShock. I have Guilty Gear on the PS2, but the game is so fast paced that the DualShock d-pad ends up raping my thumb. I have to be careful how long I play because it'll give me a blister in no time flat.

Im aware you can turn it off. Still doesn't seem like something to write home about.

My pad is messed up where its holding down on the dpad and so I endlessly duck :/

I played Guilty Gear fine on my dualshock, so I'm glad I've already gotten usd to it :p

Thanks for the advice, everyone.
Sounds like it's doable, and that 360 might be the best choice for pad controls?

For the MadKatz Fight Pad, apparently.

Whether you prefer the normal 360 dual analog controller or DualShock is ultimately personal preference. DualShock rapes my thumb but I recognize that not everybody has that problem. Other people would sooner stab their eye out than use the 360 analog stick or d-pad for a 2D fighter.

So I decided that I am going to main Taokaka. She looks by far the most interesting of characters imo. A lot of cross up play for sure.

Hopefully I get it on Tues or Wed at the latest, I'm ready for the REBEL! Ever since getting back from my vacation in Tokyo I've wanted to play this again. It's really, really good. And if the online is as decent as people are saying...

Off topic a bit, but they should add you to Tekken 6 via DLC. A character made completely of Arcade Stick boxes. Just replace Mokujin with you. :D

Well I just switched my order from Amazon to Gamestop since Gamestop has free overnight shipping today and Amazon will probably ship the game a day late (I'm an impatient sack of crap).
