1UP Games on Fennell doesn't have it, so we're basically out of luck for local shops in Hamilton.

So as an ArcSys game, is there anything that really differentiates this from the Guilty Gear system? I'm not trying to start something, the main reason I'm asking is because I was never big on the Guilty Gear games, and this game has started to intrigue due to the love its getting and the amazing netcode. So, as someone who didn't really care for Guilty Gear, would you recommend this game?

It would appear to be really unsafe. If you have some patience and just block it all, she'll finish her moves and be completely open for pwnage. This is something I have to remind myself. Alternatively, if you're not in the corner, you can just backdash. I think some of her drive moves have upper body invincibility, so a low attack might beat it out (after you block).

Thing is lichi's moves are pretty slow unfortunately. Blocking is what I'm doing, but eventually I just eat a move which turns into some nasty damage.

v-13's sort of in the I-No (GGXX) camp. She's a slightly beefed up version of the playable character and her difficulty is basically increased a level.

She doesn't have any kind of moves like I-No like that weird mass ball thing she did but she has this weird talent with her Super move where you can block it but then she'll use one of her moves to hit you from behind and break your block (so you get raped by the tail end of her super).

When compared to the end bosses of most fighting games she's tame. She's easier than Seth, Gil, or any SNK boss, but not as easy as M.Bison in SFII. She probably is in the same camp as I-No as far as difficulty is concerned.

For PS3, you can still try ebay and amazon resellers, but the LE already went up in price. and the 360 is still up at Amazon and GameStop and VG+.

Yeah, international orders really killed availability of the PS3 versions.

Yes there's differences, but it's very guilty gearish.

That's what I figured. Hrm, I almost just want to give it another shot based on how everything is going with this game. I figured 98 and Garou would tide me over for a while but playing those online with that netcode just drive me insane. I'll take a look online for a decent way to get BlazBlue, since Canada seems to be getting the shaft and not getting the game until the 29th, and it won't even be the LE :/

Playing on a shitty TV makes this game hurt my eyes. I think I'm going to just sit on this until I get a better TV. I can't count frames for shit. =/ That... and I suck at this game. My inability to do those half circle back then forward is messing with my ability to do stuff.

My tip: learn to combo. You can get easy good damage of her throws and you should learn what to do when a 2A hits. Also, use more C... that on counterhit will lead into good combos and the move has good speed and read both on ground and air. Oh, and if the "Hadouken-ounch" hits you can do the wind-up claw to combo in.

Any other options for European gamers besides videogameplus.ca where it's out of stock? I was lucky enough to grab a copy, but now a friend of mine who waited too long is kinda screwed. Playasia doesn't ship the game to the EU and Amazon is retardedly expensive.

Playing through all that I got a pretty good feel for all the characters. I liked Nu, Rachel, and Bang. But I think i'll stick with Tao for now. Also

Since Canada isn't getting it until the end of the month, I ordered the limited edition from PlayAsia. I can't believe I went from not wanting the game to paying a premium to get the limited edition online.

I went from not wanting the game last night, to saying to myself I'd get it only if I could trade in 3 games for it, but I wasn't paying $70.

Now because of the shortage, it has bumped my hype level x1000, and I'm purchasing it at full price.

You're getting the PS3 version right, SaitoH? I've never gamed with ya before so this should be a prime opportunity. Get ready to kick my ass because I suck at fighters. Get Greg over as well. :lol

WTF? I picked mine up yesterday in Toronto. I talked to the guy at EB today and he thinks it will be delayed until Monday and no later.

All the EBs received a corporate wide letter detailing the situation. It's delayed until the end of the month, and they're even calling back almost half of their pre-orders to postpone them until the 29th (who will likely be getting the standard edition).

If I go to MicroPlay, I'd almost be tempted to pick up a second copy that I could ship to a fellow Canadian GAFer.

I am also in the "Canada can't join the party" party. Called everywhere, only EB Games had it and they said the 28th. Microplay might have it next week though.

I called the EB near me (near the Vancouver area), and she said the game got "pushed back" to the 29th... I tried to clarify, saying there is both a LE and a Standard edition and the 29th is supposed to be for the SE, but she cut me off saying "it doesn't matter, it's gonna be the 29th."

So much bullshit. Now I'm going to have to try and find a smaller store that actually got their shipment in. ><

Heh you got a totally different person than me. I went to the store asking if they'd get any in, and the girl was apologizing at every moment while she was explaining the situation. I'm like "it's okay, it's okay!". :lol

Call the store: "We had copies for both PS3 and 360 but we're sold out. Did you pre-order?"

I'm also glad I only put down $5 at EB for this. I'll use that towards a PSN Card or something.

Looks like Canadian gamers looking forward to Arc System Works’ latest super-stylized two-dimensional fighting game, BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, are gonna have to wait an extra few days to pick up a copy. According to our sources in the retail industry, one of the major Canadian distributors for stores such as EB Games, Future Shop, and Best Buy has been held up at the American/Canadian border and will not arrive until Monday at the earliest. However, some smaller Canadian chains, such as MicroPlay and VideoGamesPlus, who use a different distributor altogether, have received a limited quantity. For those eager to play it over the weekend, act fast and you may just get the chance!

Only the Limited Edition version, which includes a two disc soundtrack and tutorial videos, will be available when the shipment arrives. Due to the limited print run of the game, the standard edition will not be available until July 29, 2009. BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger is available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

I've been trying to get achievements for this game. Besides the one for watching the opening, do you get any achievements through doing story mode? I know you unlock gallery pieces by doing story mode which help towards that achievement, but are there any others?

I beat Unlimited Rachel on my first try in score attack somehow, I've just been using the Jin ice riding and sword spamming stuff, but she got batshit insane difficulty hike. I'm paused on Hakumen now, I hate him. -_-
