The Callisto Protocol just received a PS5 Pro Patch | 8K@30fps and 4k@60fps | Ray Tracing on Both

Yeah, this always looked amazing and with some of the best ray-tracing I’ve seen on a console. This 40 fps 4K mode is just fucking wow. The Pro delivering the goods.
What are the visual differences of Performance and Balanced? I'm assuming reduced (or no) raytracing?

As mid as this game is I will try it again on pro…
There's a better upgrade path you should look up. They really screwed up by making guns the forefront when it should've been melee and gadgets, likely would've been a more creative game too.

I'm sticking to the 60fps mode, but I'm curious what does the 40fps add? Higher base res? More RT stuff?

There's an uncanny absence of Bojji Bojji in this Thread, feels incomplete.

i beat it twice on 60fps mode with no RT. Now on the Pro at 60fps 4K RT this looks like a launch PS6 game, wow
Game looks ridiculously good with the 40 FPS mode + New black levels. CGI like.
Man, I wish so bad this was Dead Space instead.. but I'll give Callisto another shot.

No. The more options, the better.

I disagree. Is kinda become confusing flood the game with a bunch of modes.

Need to be either quality or performance, at least for the consumer they will know only one of those mods will get 60 fps.

This is more like what Pro patches should be! Like the Pro consoles of last gen, boost the resolution, up the fidelity, and intelligently include more graphical features. Basically, actually work WITH the hardware efficiently, instead of cranking everything up to max, hoping that a brand new AI upscaler will save you, and shipping the patch out the door. This ain’t PC where you can brute force even the crappiest of ports lol, you gotta do more optimizing than that.

Hats off to the devs here, although I’ve never played CP, it’s always looked like a graphical powerhouse, featuring some of the best facial work in the business. Happy for the Pro owners!

To be fair, this is also a $700 “Pro” device; it should give those that want to tinker a bit the option to do so. If I purchase a Pro smartphone, or a professional camera, then I’d want to have the ability to control how I want my photos and videos to be, while also having the ability to, “dumb it down” and allow the device to do the work for me.

Trying to decide between a few other games to play next including AW2
If it's among recent big-budget horror titles, I'd have a hard time picking any of them over CP.
AW2 somehow ended up a letdown both visually (yes I played it fully path-traced) and as a game (I loved original AW - but this - just doesn't work for me).
DS:R is simultaneously an insult to its source material in a bunch of ways, and slavishly adhering to it in others to the point where it has nothing new to say - basically we already played the better version of it 15 years ago.
I guess I should still hope against hope SH:2 is as good as internet says - and of course I'll get it eventually - but at this point I'm not a believer - yet.

I must say the game does have its issues, but many of them were blown out of proportion, especially complaints about combat.
I think for a lot of people this was built up to be the game that takes DeadSpace(and survival horror in general) into next gen. Which of course - it wasn't, no matter how well it nails the visuals/atmosphere. The flipside is neither was what we got with the actual DS IP failed at doing the same even worse - so in that sense, CP is a success.

They already have, and have been for decade now. Just ignore the settings if you have no interest in using them.

Nah, they never gave us AMD control panel acess on consoles. Hope they never do.

I mean, we do have a taste of console commands on that awful Ark Survive.

Is something getting lost in translation?

On the PC you can have individual settings OR nVidia and AMD provide several pre-set console-like settings. (Balanced, Performance, etc).

I was referring to the latter.
