Nvidia will reportedly announce its RTX 5070 GPU alongside the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 at CES 2025 in January. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will be holding a CES keynote on January 6th, and now Wccftech claims that Nvidia will showcase a trio of next-generation RTX 50-series GPUs during Huang’s keynote.

Rumored specs of the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 leaked last month, with Nvidia’s flagship RTX 5090 expected to ship with 32GB of GDDR7 memory and a 600-watt spec. Wccftech reports that the RTX 5070 will feature a 192-bit memory bus with 12GB of GDDR7 VRAM. The RTX 5070 is also said to have a 250-watt total board power spec, 14 percent higher than the RTX 4070. Hardware leaker kopite7kimi has corroborated the report, suggesting the GPU will ship with 12GB of VRAM and the 250-watt spec.

Wccftech’s report also points to a more powerful RTX 5080 than expected. The unannounced GPU will reportedly have a 32Gbps memory speed instead of the rumored 28Gbps and a maximum bandwidth of 1024GB/s instead of the 896GB/s that was rumored. If these specs are correct, then, as VideoCardz points out, this could mean the RTX 5080 is faster and requires less power than the existing RTX 4090.

All three RTX 5090, 5080, and 5070 cards are said to be powered by a single 12VHPWR connector and will be based on Nvidia’s latest Blackwell architecture. Wccftech says Nvidia’s CES keynote will also focus on next-generation AI technologies for gaming with a “major surprise” expected.

Cheap Nvidia, 5070 with only 12gb ram.
But i'm curious if there will be a new DLSS 4.0 shown.

At some point I would rather just plug my GPU into the wall and be done with it rather than swap PSUs.
At this point they should just start bundling it with the GPU that powers these things. I am having to give up on GPU upgrades because my 750watt is not longer sufficient.

My performance predictions
5090 - 100%
5080 - 76%
4090 74%
5070 - 58%
4080 - 56%
4070 - 36%
5060TI - 36%

The rumored hardware spec for the 5080 is literally half the 5090 in RAM, bus speed, and core count, so I don't think the above is realistic. Not unless they're going to charge $1499 for it...

If 5080 is 2x more powerful than my 3080 then i might be willing to spend $700.

Otherwise no point in upgrading. This shit is getting way too expensive.

RTX 3080 is a great card.

Only issue it has is the 10GB memory, if you bought at/near launch.

It's up there with the GTX 1080 Ti and GTX 980 Ti, during their time, in regards to relative bang for buck.

4090 74%

5060TI - 36%

Probably.

If price-to-performance is as it was between 3000 series and 4000 series, that will mean the RTX 5080 will likely cost at least $1500. And RTX 5070 will be $1200 and RTX 5060 Ti will be $700.

Wouldn't expect the RTX 5090 to be any less than $2200.

I dont feel like spending 2000$ US minimum on a 5090 plus tax. and I am not going to 16 gig card with the 5080. ill stick with 4090 this gen most likely.

Unless DLSS 4 doesnt work 4090 then fuck that CEO man-ho

I'd be in too, with at least 16gb vram but that price ain't happening

Not getting any of these shitty overexpensed cards. I might as well buy an M4 later down the line.

Yes. IF price to performance is as it was going from the 3000 series to 4000 series, as it is going from the 4000 series to 5000 series.

If performance is going to be the same between RTX 4080 and RTX 5070, don't expect much of a discount.

Why? Because Nvidia has no incentive to be selling them any cheaper because people bought the 4000 series at MSRP and they have no competition (among other reasons).

My eyes are on the 5080. Everyone knows the 5090 msrp is going to make the consumer market giggle with feelings of poor.
It’s going to be interesting how they price these cards. I suspect a bit more for 5080 be 4080 and $2K + tax or more for 5090 on the FE card.

Personally I am not certain I am willing to pay $1K+ for 16GB card so may wait for Super. Well, unless miracle happens and 5090 is like $1,700.

Edit: Just noticed I am saying it’s a miracle if a god damn gaming GPU is $1,700, lol. Damn you, Jensen!

An attempt at selling you a 5060 for $700.
The 5060 should be tied with a PS5 PRO in performance. You can be sure that Nvidia will try to push a graphics card with similar performance to the PS5 PRO for the same price as the entire console.

Nvidia tried to push the 4090 by delivering "twice the performance" of the PS5 in the spider remaster, with the card alone costing 3x the price of the PS5.

Not sure when they pushed that. Spider-Man on a 4090 does get 3x the PS5’s performance with a good CPU.
