Her proportions are way off. Does Square or whoever have to sign off and approve the models for these kind of collaborations?
As was just pointed out. This is essentially cosplay, so they chose a model they had

I think the funniest thing about this is that, as someone pointed out - they revealed this shit like a year+ ago. Apparently the game is so thoroughly uninteresting at this point that nobody even noticed until now.
The "right people" hadn't noticed it yet. Everyone's always looking for something to be outraged about.

Also, here's Yoko Taro talking about it. Why should we be offended by it if the creator is, as it appears, fine with it?

Uhhh. The 2B Elite set for Siege came out awhile ago and the model is from another character simply wearing the same outfit as 2B.

The character that gets the outfit is Iana, and she isn't exactly attractive in the first place.

EDIT: actually came out over 2 years ago:

Again: They didn't take the 2B character and do anything. They simply gave one of their operators her outfit.
Clearly some BS YouTuber drama for some views now. I don't know why OP is saying upcoming collaboration.

Hilarious how quick people are to eat this shit up without ANY validation or fact checking.

Yeah I'm starting to get a bit tired of seeing the scramble for content from people like Mel mac and Var dark.

Again, it's not supposed to be 2B. It's literally one of the operators in the game simply wearing the same (or very close to the same) outfit.

Could the character they had already created looked more attractive? Sure. And I believe at the time that character (Iana) didn't have an Elite set yet, so they gave it to her instead of a more attractive character (like IQ or Ela) because she already had a few.

So no, Ubisoft didn't uglify 2b. They simply have her outfit to one of the uglier characters.

They did the same thing with characters from other games. Including several Resident Evil characters. They gave their outfits to the operators in Siege.
I wonder where the "THEY MADE LEON FROM RE UGLY!" topics and videos are at.

I don't care what they did, they are insulting a beloved character with this shit. That's a man in drag, they didn't even try to make it look like a woman cosplaying 2B.

Look at Eve cosplaying as 2B, she looks a lot like 2B because in the end she's a woman dressed up as 2B.

I shouldn't be wondering if it's a dude dressed in drag when I see female characters being cosplayed. They did this shit on purpose and it's stupid and insulting to the character that is 2B IMO, it doesn't flatter Nier Automata in my opinion.

Because he and square are the ones being paid for that collab. Users in the other hand are the ones that need to pay for that trash. Pretty easy to understand why are the costumers that get upset when they butcher female characters. Personally i dont think is that big of a deal, i just find it hilarious how bad western devs are at making women look feminine, so i send my money to the devs that still know how to make feminine looking woman.

Cant wait for the Nier DLC for Stellar Blade. :messenger_smirking:

Thanks for this.

I needed a bit more context on how this came to be and you are right, lots of people LEAP to wild conclusions and eat up any shit given to them without a second thought, but seeing how wild so many are to play victims and look to complain about something, I always need a bit more to see how such things come to be as clearly we have some bad actors that seem to love fanning flames and making shit up for views.

Some thing was telling me this person looks like they are modeled from another character within the game

Can't say this is surprising. Especially since majority of the posts I've seen in this thread are from Grummz adjacent accounts begging for clicks and attention. 🙄

Yes, Ubisoft sucks and all that, but come on man, lol.

Holy shit, so even if you designed for them a character and give them all the tools they will somehow find a way to make it look hideous. :messenger_grimmacing_

They're not looking for facts or sense. They're looking for something to complain about and to be outraged by. They're no better than the people they're "against". They're just the opposite side of the same coin.

I'm glad to see sensible takes in topics like these in this forum, though. So thanks.

Not sure about vara dark because I haven't seen much from her, but something that really does bother me with Melonie Mac and MANY other people like that (let's say anti woke people) is that it seems to often be simply driven by religion.
You will see people saying some stuff that sounds interesting and making sense at first, and then you notice that they start linking things to christianity and how as a christian they think that blablabla.
This actually completely invalidates a lot of what they're saying to me.

If you criticize some stuff like wokism and other things because of it being some kind of echo chamber, but in reality you say all of this just because it doesn't match with the religion you grew up with, then it doesn't really make your opinion that much better, because it's not your own either, it's biased and... actually shares some stuff with what you're criticizing.

I don't mean this as a diss against christians, I don't care about any religions, it's just something that I've noticed several times with american people talking about subjects like this.

I don’t care about what’s “woke” and what’s not but this is such a weird collaboration. Who are they try appeal to? People who are fan of 2B are not gonna like putting 2B costume on ugly character and in Rainbow Six all the characters are ugly so this costume not gonna look good.

What is the point of doing it this way?

I guess its funny to realize that the most likely reason for this is because there's only 1 model for everybody in this game and so they just put a 2B skin on the model and it's obviously a male model

Kinda makes you wonder why they would bother with a female character for a crossover considering this limitation in the game engine

Even with the additional context of it being a costume and all... Why bother having a crossover with a sexy female character if you're going to remove the sexy? :messenger_tears_of_joy:
