Ubisoft Makes 2B Look Like a Man in Rainbow Six Siege

Even with the additional context of it being a costume and all... Why bother having a crossover with a sexy female character if you're going to remove the sexy? :messenger_tears_of_joy:
I think they chose the specific operator in promotions because she has white hair. Assuming the costume can be put on any character (I don't play Siege), anyone here would be able to just equip it on an operator they deem better looking no?

Dokkaebi for example:

This is me assuming of course, again I don't play this game.

Well, she probably has to match the proportions of other characters in a pvp shooter that needs to have good hit detection.
Yeah there's a strong weeb waifuo action RPG gamer not understanding competitive online multiplayer vibe with this one. Especially in R6 which is such a pixel peeking sort of game.

Lots of other skins in this game that also don't look quite like the thing they're supposed to be as... these are outfits for established characters. They're not putting "2B" the character in the game.

Also I think I saw a video of this Melonie Mac chick chowing down on a whole stick of butter. So I'm disappointed, as that was both hot and nutritious, and this is a bunch of nonsense.

Now don't get me wrong there are a lot of horrible characters in R6 and it's had a disturbing fall from "fairly realistic military looking dude from real life counter-terrorist organization" to "I have They/Them pronouns and I work for a Marvel's Agents of SHIELD knockoff" which really killed the "vibe" as the kids say. But this ain't it.

Ah, yeah I don't play Siege either, but assuming anyone can wear it then that makes the initial Twitter/video post look very disingenuous because they chose one of the worst examples. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

For sure the example you gave would look way better

Yeah, imagine if she had the lithe proportions of her form in Nier, it would be pay to win. Like putting Oddjob in a competitive online shooter as paid DLC.

Skins in general in Siege are pay to lose. Well there's a bit of wiggle room there. I think one of the earlier seasonal skins (back when they were just selling different types of camo, might have been the Parabellum season) was so effective at helping characters blend into the background that I think they banned it from pro play. But as it was a seasonal skin and not that exciting aesthetically not that many people had it such that it would be a plague in normal matchmaking. Though you could pull the skins randomly from the 'alpha packs' you earn from regular gameplay (or purchase) as it was the time of the lootbox.

But back to pay to lose, most of the skins are bright and gaudy making you more visible. And sometimes the skins do overflow the bounds of the character's hitbox, think big hats and helmets... so it's kind of a gray area, you'd get seen when you normally wouldn't but if you get shot at, they can't actually hit you and are thus giving away their position. I kind of embraced the stupid and wore shit like:

But I very much advocated for a toggle to force base skins. Especially since in Siege each operator has unique abilities/gadgets so it's important to identify and call out what ops the opposing team is running, and who you've killed/wounded. All the crazy skins murdered the readability of the game. I'd often make/hear calls like "I downed <operator>... or maybe <other operator>" and that's purely down to the skins muddying your ability to tell who's who.

This game had such a crazy trajectory for me from "wow this has so much potential that they'll probably never realize" (broken matchmaking, some major pacing and balance issues) to them actually realizing that potential, fixing all the major problems, and having the best competitive shooter on the market... to this downslide where things got stupider and stupider and it barely resembles its Clancy roots at all. Not sure where the meta stands these days as I haven't regularly played in a few years at this point, but it was getting kind of bad when I gave up, as far as it being filled with players treating it like COD, running in and just winning/losing a gunfight instead of engaging with the strategic elements and trying to take a bomb site.

Again, it's not supposed to be 2B. It's literally one of the operators in the game simply wearing the same (or very close to the same) outfit.

Could the character they had already created looked more attractive? Sure. And I believe at the time that character (Iana) didn't have an Elite set yet, so they gave it to her instead of a more attractive character (like IQ or Ela) because she already had a few.

So no, Ubisoft didn't uglify 2b. They simply have her outfit to one of the uglier characters.

They did the same thing with characters from other games. Including several Resident Evil characters. They gave their outfits to the operators in Siege.
I wonder where the "THEY MADE LEON FROM RE UGLY!" topics and videos are at.

Thank you for brining some rationale into this.

It doesn’t look like 2B because it’s not, It’s CrossDresser6 or some shit. Anyway people wouldn’t be so sensitive to this if Ubi wasn’t so deeply mired in continuous controversy. It’s easy fuel for grifting.

Here's the official announcement. This is real.

Here's the explanation according to PCGamesN: This is not 2B but G2 (?)

Doesn't make a lick of sense why they wanted to do this. Nobody will understand this reasoning, all people see is 2B being cosplayed by a tranvestite.

Simple, Ubisoft probably rejected putting an actual attractive character in their game and instead created this abomination. I bet if you could remove the clothes, they probably modeled a tucked dick under there.

It's literally just a costume for a character that already existed in the game that has been available for over a year and some change, lmao.

2B is slim and sexy, what's the point of giving her skin to a more muscular character?

Consider R6:S is free to play yet still brings in near a billion dollars.....every skin sells to everyone that plays that character.
Hell if you go to the R6 forums or reddits people loved the costume on Iana.

The "more attractive" characters already have premium skins and Iana has white hair so they probably just said fuck it, put this skin out and sell it for a premium, im sure a bunch of R6 players dont even know what the costume is referencing but theyll still buy it........more perplexing as you so rarely see your character in gameplay.

Oh brilliant let's come out with this right up against the shift up version. I put up a strong defense for Star wars girl, but this absolutely looks intentional.
