It covers all the parts to make the consoles, and for the Switch 2, it even covers screens.Would this apply to video game consoles or not?
Looked up the code for video game hardware, unfortunately it is not listed in the OP.Doesn't say outright but I gotta imagine shit like the multiple transistor entries should cover some portion of it, at least.
Are consoles made in China? Genuinely asking. Figured Japan, South Korea and India. The HTS code for Video Game consoles is 9504.50. This isn't stated in the image in the OP.
It looks like Video Game Consoles won't be exempt from the tariffs.

Yeah, I just googled the HTS code for video game consoles (9504.50) and it's not one of the ones listed to be exempt unfortunately. Some of the components would be but as they are manufactured abroad I'm not sure any of the console manufacturers are going to be let off the hook by this.It covers all the parts to make the consoles, and for the Switch 2, it even covers screens.
That said, doesn't directly say consoles in and of themselves but it's safe to assume consoles are safe for now.
Assshhh
PlayStation is mostly assembled in China, some in Japan. Are consoles made in China? Genuinely asking. Figured Japan, South Korea and India.
Gotcha. I knew I also heard Vietnam in there too.PlayStation is mostly assembled in China, some in Japan.
Nintendo used to use China a lot more but has been moving production to places like Vietnam and Cambodia. Vietnam was only responsible for 60% of US Hardware shipments from Nintendo according to this recent article so they were likely still using Chinese manufacturing to supply the USA market to some extent, at least before these tariffs. https://www.niftytrader.in/content/...ing-to-vietnam-amid-u-s-china-trade-tensions/

Congratulations on what China did.
I hope they punish the Neanderthal with red hat and the Orange for the dumb things they do to their people and the world.

Oil companies already got their exemption in early.Other industries lobbyist' needs to open up their wallets more, those cheapskates.
Trump, and the rest of his party, isn't thinking about gaming at all.you people are crazy if you think only gaming PC parts will be exempted.
Can you imagine trump says "yea we'll exempt gaming PC parts but not for console!!!" LOL!
If Stormy Daniels is to be believed, Trump's is rather tiny and mushroom-shaped.Political pressure/penis size
just wait and hes going to exempt other things, just a matter of time, is all showTrump, and the rest of his party, isn't thinking about gaming at all.
The GPU's being exempt will help businesses, AI, Servers, Super Computers etc. They're not being removed from tariffs so people can buy a 5090 to play GTA VI.
The HTS code for Video Game Consoles is not in the list of exemptions.
