People actually are hyping Spec Ops? I thought it was the most generic looking thing to come along in years. People bitch about brown shooters, holy shit the game blows all over brown shooters away in the brown department. Some kind of plot which we have no indication of what it's about but they try to make it sound like we should care? Looks like gears of war and seems like it might be Unreal engine even, though the animation seemed nice.

Arguing the merits of Indie is silly, you'll never see someone like Cactus up there. That Jenova Chen & Santiago (who are pushing the boundary and moving games forward more than most indie devs tbh) had air-time and not relegated to a montage is a small victory.

Btw, obviously, Nintendo don't advertise (or want to associate) with the VGA's. :lol :lol

Didn't you read the second post where he said that their animations weren't as good so it doesn't count? Uncharted 2 has carved a righteous path through a uncaring world to deliver us from this other gaming swill into the hands of a Naughty God.

Any in-game footage at all was pretty exciting tonight. It got cool when the sand gave way underneath him. Assume it's 100% scripted, but if not that could be awesome.

Smart move.

Sure, it was really all one big ad for all of this year's games. But most people who are in the market for them, already have them. Nintendo's market wouldn't watch this anyway, even if it had the slightest bit of quality or class.

MoH looks like it'd fit as MW3, not that I mind that. I'm rooting for EA to pump out a great game. Spec Ops looks a bit dull at first glance, but that's obviously a first impression...on shitty grainy footage.

It has the brown look yes but the game seemed to have a nice atmosphere, also the gunplay animation and overall movement(like when the floor gave out) reminded me of Uncharted 2, which felt really great.

Thats why I'm excited for it at the moment. Hope it ends up good.

Spec Ops.. never saw anything on this but it showed well if that was actual gameplay.

Medal of Honor... total rip off but it looked good. Hope they rip off the controls also

Crackdown 2... just loved the song and its crackdown.. I can not wait!

Not really. I look at it the same way I look at independent film making. Sure you can make something on your own, but if you have a big publisher backing you with money and they get to put their name on it, you're not really in the realm of "indie." The whole point of being independent is to avoid the process of dealing with major studios and publishers.

Though most just seem to think "indie" is a really cool way to say "artsy/clever downloadable game" these days.
