The other one was shifted by 9 (as in 999). Maybe it's both, Ever17 re-release and ZE3. Or it's just a coincidence.
edit: It's also still a possibility that it's a game that combines the ZE and the Infinity universe. Playing up the connection to the Infinity series in Japan while doing the same with the ZE series everywhere else.

I was pessimistic at first, but this has gotten pretty crazy and seemingly significant, so I've let the pessimism go. No indication as to when we might actually know what this is kind of lame, so the buildup should be warranted.
That was already attempted, and subsequently locked. Really, nothing of substance has been shown as of yet for us who aren't following it, so I don't know if that'd fly. The original thread would have been the place for all of this speculation, with the new hints coming out.

I think the mods won't allow a new thread until an actual announcement. To avoid overflowing this thread with new info, let's just recap what happened.
- Aksys teases via twitter once again using the #4infinity hastag
- 4infinity.co updates and the word "ring" appears under the second number 0
- Kotaro Uchikoshi tweets two random strings of numbers (1 & 2)
For a short while, the word salt also showed up on the site and the word ring was on top of the 0. (According to other people on GAF, didn't see it myself)
If nothing happens during this week, Friday would be the next time the counter updates if that hasn't changed.

I actually thought that at first but realized it's probably a coincidence, and we're meant to shift 9 in one direction for the first tweet, and 9 in the other direction for the second tweet. The fact that 9 in one direction = 17 in the opposite direction is probably a coincidence. I mean, that's what it looks like to me, I could definitely be wrong.

Not sure if this qualifies as "new information". I'd say let's wait for:

I am pretty sure that thread got locked because people started to circlejerk by photoshopping their profile pictures onto what was named a "hype stairlift".
After 10 days, that first thread was on life-support and you know it, at least it went out in a fun way.
Problem is that the other thread got locked as well, even after the image changed, so it's probably too soon to make a new one.

Katawa Shoujo 1.3 featuring the Japanese localization is now available! Three years and change after the original release, KS can be now read in the language of the image that originally inspired the birth of the Katawa Shoujo project. We would like to thank everyone who have been patiently waiting for the Japanese release for more than 3 years since the release of version 1.0. It was truly a long journey with many challenges for us the translation team as well. We're happy that we have succeeded in reaching the final goal. The Japanese translation and the release of Katawa Shoujo could not have been made without the tremendous support from dev folks in Four Leaf Studios, the members of JP translation team, among many other people. We would like to express our thanks for making this release possible.
Katawa Shoujo is a monumental game, which was made in English language, by a team of non-Japanese individuals, with a visual novel format which is very familiar to us Japanese. Despite the title's first hand impression, the stories in the game were very sincere, which received praise across the world. It is undoubtedly a memorable piece, or rather a phenomenon in the history of games (One evidence is that searching for "Katawa Shoujo" in youtube will show 63800 videos posted).
I myself was moved so much when I played this game, which was the reason I wanted to people in Japan to know more about KS. That was also the cause for me to translate it into Japanese.
As the Japanese Otaku culture spread around the world over the years, its influence has culminated into one masterpiece, and now it is being brought back into Japan. It's fascinating how things have come to a full circle, and I feel lucky that I could take a part in this. In a way, I felt it was a mission for me to complete the translation and make it public. That determination has kept me going till now.
Our team has given the best of our efforts into the translation. Please enjoy.

7 years since the release of Act1 in 2008, and 3 years since the full version in 2012. English visual novels were far more in the niche back then. However in the past year or two, we are seeing more and more English visual novels in Steam and other platforms. Perhaps Katawa Shoujo had its influence in paving the way for Visual Novels.
I'm hoping that the release of KS Japanese translation would increase interest in other novel games outside Japan, and perhaps their translation as well.
