Playing FPS games with a controller/analog stick is a self handicap. I don't understand how anyone could play a fast paced FPS with one. I'm sure for some people, that's all they know and you can get pretty good at it but every time I've tried, it feels so gross and as if my hands were tied.

• RDR2 is Rockstar's worst game because of how disconnected the narrative, mission design and the open-world is. (And how shit it feels to control).
• Witcher 3 is pretty mid.
• Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is the best CoD by far.
• Splinter Cell 1 + Pandora Tomorrow + Chaos Theory are far better stealth games than Metal Gear Solid 1 + 2 + 3.
• Baldur's Gate 1 + 2 are overrated, their real-time with pause combat is really dragging them down. The only thing why they are memorable is the writing, which, for their time, was above average for video games. But is nothing special on its own.
• StarCraft was never a good RTS game and helped to kill the genre in the long run.
• FF12 (especially the Zodiac Age) is the second-best FF ever and one of the best games Square has ever shat out. (And is one of the very few games where the real-time with pause combat actually is fun)
• Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are the most disappointing generation of consoles so far. Both MS and Sony first-party stuff is really mid to bad.
• The Devil May Cry games were never interesting as video games, they got carried hard by their presentation.
• Sim City 2013 is a better city sim than Cities: Skylines
• Pokemon stopped being good after Gold/Silver/Crystal.
• Resident Evil games are shit at being horror games.
• I find the King's Field games to be far better designed than the Souls games (And that's not nostalgia speaking, since I have played them after Dark Souls 3 came out).
• Achievements/Trophies were a mistake.
• All MOBAs are garbage and there is not one single redeeming thing about them.
• Epic games have only made two good games: Unreal and Unreal Tournament 99.
• People who say that games "are art" are just trying to justify spending their time on video games by hiding behind statements like this. That goes even moreso for game devs. You are making fucking video games; toys. Be proud of it and embrace that or get the fuck out of the industry.

I think consoles and console gaming loosing popularity is a big mistake nowadays and this will lead to less progress in games. Console vendors used to create exclusives to push forward their console.
Took me years/life of pc gaming to appreciate console gaming more, if you know what I mean.

I am still not a fan of modes on consoles. Goes against what I like about console. It's mainly FINE but needs to be under contol.

People scream gameplay but when amazing gameplay game comes like Dragons Dogma 2, you see waves of people shitting on it's graphics, while it looks really amazing. People don't really know what good graphics look like and probably look for rt reflections and tons of like like cyberpunk or something. For me, dragons dogma 2 (just as an example) looks better than cyberpunk.

Dark Souls 2 is the best souls. Better than Elden Ring too. Especially original is better than sotfs

90% of PlayStation exclusives are shallow as shit and are praised because braindead fanboys think shiny cutscenes and melodramatic novella bullshit makes a game. I mean games like both Horizons, Ghost if Tsushi, both God of Wars, and the first TLOU (yes the story for the second was significantly worse, but the gameplay was top of the line).

Also, no, Ghost of Tsushi isn't better than any AC. It's got better combat. Everything else somehow manages to be more derivative and copy/paste than literal ubi-trash.

Bloodborne is one of the greatest games of all time though. I'll give you that win.

"I've shit on every walking simulator and it's not hard to see where I stand on things like this. But what it does differently is that it's "walking" doesn't stop you from playing. What do I mean by that? I won't spoil the story moment: but I took a wrong turn in the game and ended up hiking uphill through a random snow storm only to come out on the other end not having anywhere to go. So I whipped out the stakes and started a descent down a mountainside to my objective and using what perches found I was able platform down and over the course of a few minutes fully descended and reach my objective in a totally unorthodox, non-linear fashion: most importantly, the game didn't tell me "NO, YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" It gave me the tools I needed and let me accomplish my goal how I wanted.
