Donkey Kong 94 was developed by Pax Softnica, and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat on GameCube was actually the last one to be developed by NCL over 20 years ago. It's gonna be wild if Nintendo actually develop a DK platformer (be it 3D or 2D) in-house in Japan. The last time that happened was Donkey Kong for the GameBoy, afaik.
was Jungle Beat a platformer? I always thought it was some kind of rhythm game.Donkey Kong 94 was developed by Pax Softnica, and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat on GameCube was actually the last one to be developed by NCL over 20 years ago.
It 100% is, you're confusing it with the Donkey Konga games that also used the DK Bongos.was Jungle Beat a platformer? I always thought it was some kind of rhythm game.
Donkey Konga was the rhythm game. Jungle Beat was a platformer that just happened to use the bongos for controls. It was a little odd, but a ton of fun. The Wii control version was pretty good too.was Jungle Beat a platformer? I always thought it was some kind of rhythm game.
If it is Donkey Kong, I actually hate it. The TF DK design is great. He looks like he has dead eyes now.

Funnily enough, I missed the 'platformer' part on your post, and yet DKJB happened to be one.
Then I stand corrected.Donkey Konga was the rhythm game. Jungle Beat was a platformer that just happened to use the bongos for controls. It was a little odd, but a ton of fun. The Wii control version was pretty good too.
