Tried to get into Mafia III but couldn't. I don't like stories where the protagonist is full of anger, and his main motive is revenge. I don't find characters like that interesting or relatable. I feel like I've heard the story a hundred times already. It's one reason I avoided TLOU2, too.

Started up Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. This is supposedly the wrap-up to Kiryu's saga. I'm enjoying the game so far. The visuals are a significant step up from the last Yakuza game I played, which was 6.

I found it jarring to hear Yong Yea's voice coming out of Kiryu's mouth, though. That wouldn't do. Kiryu needs to sound like Kiryu, so I switched back to the Japanese voice.

Just fought Kiana in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Easily the coolest and most adrenaline fueled boss fight in a 2D Metroidvania since like forever. So fucking good. Ubi just outdone themselves on this one. Game is excellent so far. Very high quality game.

Currently playing:
Tales of Grace's f remastered (switch) - likeing it so far combat is good, story is pretty interesting with quite a few twists and turns (about 10 hours in).

Hoping to complete this before Trials of Daybreak 2 comes out.

Making more progress in the Night is Grey.. Very atmospheric game, but honestly curious as to where things will go in it. Not sure... but interesting so far.

Also, if you guys would like to see some of the footage as a result of the "wedding ceremony" in Asheron's Call, you can do so here at the 13:53 timestamp/chapter.

Right now mostly a mix of BF2042 and The Finals for online games and then Balatro and Sniper Elite: Resistance for single player. Granted I'm also doing the invasions on Sniper Elite.

Man.

I have a problem. I’m sure it’s common at a place like this. I just can’t seem to finish games. Games I really, really like too. I have ADHD, so that might play a part, but I just think of a game, and I’ll put down everything else and only play that game.

I just saw a YouTube Short of Resident Evil 5, and I instantly installed it on my PS5, despite still needing to play others. And this is just hours after starting LA Noir on the PS5 as well.

So right now, I’m playing RE5 on the PS5.

I know the feeling of that initial desire - but a lot of times I don't act on it because I know it's not going anywhere. But I feel you.

Luckily I had already purchased the game, and only needed to install it. I was shocked I only had 4 trophies unlocked. I know I 100% it on a few Xbox consoles, PC and Switch. Like RE4, I think I’ve purchased RE5 for like 10 different platforms.

Me and wife just went all the way through Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis this weekend!

Fate_of_Atlantis_artwork.jpg

She's always the one who suggests point and click adventures once in awhile. Such a great genre for couples! Played it curled up on the couch with an htpc air mouse. This one was great! We had to consult a guide a couple times for those puzzles that were requiring a lot of walking for the trial and error. Other than those, almost every puzzle was sensible. I think just two were kinda dumb and I would have never figured them out. The rest were very fair.

Hardspace: Shipbreaker. Fun gameplay. Fictional dystopia from a workers point of view comes across as political propaganda at times, but it is easily dismissed.

Indiana Jones, just up to the early stages of Sukhothai.
Brotato when I only have 30 minutes, enough for a run.
Sniper Elite Resistance, penultimate level and 3rd level in co-op.

I think I'm close to the end of Lies of P. This will be my last true Soulslike for quite a while. After this I have no idea what I'm playing yet. I wish there were another new Metroidvania to play. The most recent was Ender Magnolia and I already beat it. Will have to mull this one for a bit. I have a huge backlog, but not in the mood for most of it. I've been on a Metroidvania or shooter kick for a while, and unfortunately, my backlog has next to nothing with those genres. Atomfall is the exact type of game I'm looking for right now, but gotta wait til late March for that.

I'm planning to go through this on the Wii soon 👍
It's unlocked via a code iirc on the rather poor Staff of King's.

Finished Lies of P. Good game, enjoyed my time with it. No more Soulslikes for a long time, I can't take them anymore.

Looking for my next game and tonight I bounced around from like 5 different games and couldn't stick any of them. Just a bunch of games I started but previously abandoned, and figured I'll go back to them they're still installed on my PS5, and when I went back to them I remember quickly why I abandoned them. I just didn't like them.

Games I tried:

Momodora
Batboy
Turrican Flashback
Oddworld: Soulstorm
Signalis

Maybe I'll go back to Starfield but I really don't want to fucking play that game right now. Craving a shooter so maybe I'll go back to Shadow Warrior 2, that's another game I abandoned years back.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
So I'm playing the PC Game Pass version of Starcraft 2. Everything's good but the CG quality is SHOCKINGLY low. I haven't played these games in ages so kinda surprised how this didn't stick out to me before.

Is there any mod to replace the CG videos with higher bitrate / quality ones?

I started Islets because I was vibing for a Metroidvania and it went on sale. Really cool little game. Looks and plays great, super smooth, good difficulty level and the pace is spot on, never seem to get bored of one area or doing one thing before you're on to the next, really easy to keep playing. Looking forward to playing more (and hopefully finishing something soon).

Still mostly playing Cyberpunk.
Last time I complained about the side quests being underwhelming, but now that I'm getting deeper into the game I'm starting to encounter the more extensive and interesting quests I expected from the creators of The Witcher 3.

Still enjoying my mostly melee focused build, though the finishing move I had been saving up skill points to get is a bit meh (I mean it's useful but the animation isn't particularly satisfying)

Lately just Elden Ring (XSX). I'm near the final stretch and also done 33% of the achievements. Need to get 100% on both and then I'll move on to Lords of the Fallen (XSX).

Fancied firing this up after seeing and hearing how much people have enjoyed Ninja Gaiden 2 Black. I'm up to chapter 9. Game was smooth sailing until I got to Alma. Tough lady.

Nioh 2
On the third region now. Only died a couple of times but it's my third or fourth playthrough so I know everything pretty well.

Going to download Onimusha on the PS5 now. Watching the Capcom showcase from yesterday has put me in an oni slaying mood.

Just finished Indiana Jones: Staff of Kings on PS5. My word what an awful game but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy some aspects of it. There's not enough treasure hunting games and movies out there so I'm pretty forgiving of them.
Looking forward to playing Great Circle in a couple of months when it releases. Would love to see them add Emperor's Tomb to PS+ as well. I remember that one actually being pretty good.

So I got caught in the ninja gaiden 2 black hype and popped 50 bucks a few weeks back when it came out.

It's been good to sort of study it because the series is so highly regarded, but I put it down. Sounds funny, but it gets too hard to see too much of the time. I'm literally playing by sound at some points because the camera is so ass. You could say it's a fatal nitpick.

But that aside, I did have a lot of fun with the game and for the first time I have a proper appreciation of it. The last time I played one was a long looooong time ago. The fundamentals of the gameplay are so strong. I'm not one to over-generalize fighting systems (there's only so many ways to punch, kick, slash and stab) so to me, this system is very unique. This is one of those games where the gameplay feel alone can carry the whole thing.

A big part of why I called it on the camera is that I junked the hell out of the game the weekend it came out. So that frustration just built up lol. I got done with an encounter I played 75% blind and said fuck it I'm done lol. Don't let that stop you, though. Seems fine for many others.

The camera in the entire trilogy is abysmal, and fatal to the fun for me. I am playing the recent NG2B release but I can only play in very short bursts. I am still in Ch. 2 only. The camera is that terrible. The gameplay itself is fun enough, and NG is a staple of the traditional action game genre which is my favorite. At least 4 looks like the camera should be normal, as opposed to the garbage that is NG1-3's camera. (Yes, I fucking hate it that fucking much and nothing will change my mind.)

Got the Platinum of the SR1+2 Remaster and decided to reboot the Pharao Remaster again after not playing it for 2 years or so.

Gotta…. Resist…. Restarting…. It…. From…. Scratch…. Again.

Always such a pain when you haven’t played a game for a long time….

Citizen Sleeper 2. Taking it slow, absorbing the vibes and avoiding being overwhelmed with all the lore. I like how the game plays the same and yet does a few new things to keep it fresh.

I saw it more like satire than propoganda of anything.

In the last case of Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy, the puzzles made me feel very smart and very dumb simultaneously.

Trails From Zero: In the middle of chapter 3 and loving every second of it.

Warhammer 40k Boltgun: Just barely survived the first encounter with a Lord of Change . Great game so far and the first of this style of shooter for me

Saturn Bomberman: Playing a couple of stages per day before sleep, just beat the first world last night

Finished up the SP for CoD: BO6 a few nights ago. I liked it quite a bit, except for the 'zombie' type missions, which I hated.

I'm about 2/3s of the way through Ninja Gaiden 2 Black right now, playing on the Easy setting. Loving it, even when I'm not, and feeling motivated to come back later and replay it (and play the others, probably on Sigma) on Normal after I get some more practice with it.

I've got so many games on my "never started/moved on after a few hours" pile: Indiana Jones, Stellar Blade, Black Myth Wukong, Doom Eternal (mean to replay 2016 and finally finish Eternal before the new one hits), Unicorn Overlord, MGS V, Stalker 2. And that's just stuff that's sitting on a hard drive right now or I've redownloaded and then deleted again recently. Plus I've just bought KCD 2 and the Mafia remastered set this week. I need to make "finish some damn games" my new year's resolution.

Edit: And the MGS 3 remake trailer/date just hit. I also need to play the remaster set for 1-3 (and finish 5) before that hits in August. Ugh.

In Marvel Rivals, I got a quad kill with my ult against actual humans lol. So there's that!

I am bouncing between like 5 other games for short periods of time based on mood.

I also bought SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos so that I could play as Mai.

Ender Magnolia: Bloom of the Mist
I made it to the Crimson Forest. This area is so tedious, frustrating, and annoying that I turned off the game for about a week. I figured that I would return and it would go a little smoother, as leaving something alone tends to do.

Nope. I have so many incomplete rooms and sections and the rest make no sense to me. I hate to think that I might turn off, delete, and never return to a game that I was enjoying so much all the way up to this point. This area is so much ass.

Ender Magnolia: Bloom of the Mist

Finally cleared out most of Crimson Forest and Final Disposal Site. I hate those two Zones. I only have some rooms left that I cannot access until I explore the next and new Zone,
Central Stratum
.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink

I'm finally going to start this tonight. The reviews say the story and characters are lively but not very developed, and that there is almost a gacha type of grind in the endgame for stuff. Otherwise it is a competent Action RPG with good combat and gameplay, the first two criticism aside. I just want some action gameplay so it sounds perfect for me.

Marvel Rivals

I'm still a lonely pleb, but I'm improving with Scarlet Witch. I might try out Iron Man next.

No Man's Sky

Despite the Worlds II update, I still haven't seen a gas giant despite jumping through around a few dozen systems. Is there a star type that increases the likelihood of seeing them? Also, I found an undiscovered planet that was named Pleb Major. I found that very funny. I am presently on a Bountiful world that is reminiscent of Earth with its grass, water, and sky colors. I think I will hang out here for awhile, since the gas giant and dino hunting is all but bust.

I'm playing Deemo and I'm completely hooked. Unlike other rhythm games that are just about chasing high scores, Deemo gives you a real sense of progress—unlocking new songs and areas as you grow the tree. It adds a purpose to the gameplay that I didn’t expect. I honestly didn’t think I’d enjoy a rhythm game this much!

I got a handful of titles lately. Kinda beating around the bush until I figure out what to play.

I’ve spent most of my time playing KCD2. That will be an incredibly slow play through, but a good one. I got 13 Sentinels on Switch. I had it on PS4, but wanted it on Switch instead. I’m thinking of playing that or Fantasian. Not sure which to play first. I got Avowed preordered and MHW purchased. Looking forward to playing both, probably more of Wilds than Avowed. I want to start the Jeff Minter Collection at some point. I also got Metamorphic Force on PSN via Arcade Archives. A legit version for a home platform for $7.99. I never thought it would ever leave the arcade emulator scene.
