I just backed my first Kickstarter project. I know it says there’s a ton of risk with it, but I’m sure, with the experience of the people making it, it’ll get released.

Still has 3 days left if you didn’t see this announcement. I think I’m more excited about the digital magazine archive than the physical book.

A couple of titles I haven't read in the SF Masterworks series with the new covers:

And these two super nice hardcover collections of Metabarons and Technopriests graphic novels, never read them completely, looking forward to digging in, I have read mostly everything else by Jodorowsky.

I’d love some comments on those with exterior Christmas lights.

I have the “traditional “ ones but they are “smart” and work pretty good but there are some quality issues with them from a full years work and I have had to replace one of the strings already. I have about 150 feet of them in use. I love the ability to set them to a timer and the ability to change to whatever theme I want when I want.

I was looking at something of an upgrade though. The permanent lights look really nice but would cost around $3500. Those are the Cadillac of lights I guess. The other option is that I have seen some Govee ones that are their “pro” lights and are semi permanent (whatever that means) that seem to be popular too. They would only cost around $500 too which is nice.

Would appreciate comments from those that have tried a few different options and why they decided on one in the end.

Ted and Jasmine, Siamese brother and sister, I got them 10 days ago as I felt it was the right time to get some new cats after losing Lily my previous Siamese 6 months ago who was literally my best friend I've been so depressed this year after having her put to sleep, These two will definitely help fill the void some 😊

I want to hug them and give them tiny kisses on their foreheads.

PNY RTX 4060 Ti from Best Buy. $425 with tax and shipping.

I have an ITX based system so I wanted to keep the heat and power down to a minimum. I'm upgrading from a 2060 that I've had for 4 years now...so it's time.

Wanted to spend less than $500 total and I have a 1080p monitor.

Games: Nolvus Skyrim, Madden 25 and Star Citizen on my Windows partition. NBA 2k24, Days Gone, Red Dead 2 and Assassins Creed Odyssey on my Linux Mint partition.

Bought a base Mac Mini M4. I needed a Mac for some corporate Keynote work at home - and been using borrowed old MBP.
Funny that this is my first Mac purchase since 2009, and been working with Macs professionally since Power PC days.

It comes with 16GB RAM but small 256GB drive. I have an ancient 4-bay Synology NAS drive at home, so long-term storage wise I'm okay (slow though) - but may invest in a fast external drive for work.

I would worry more about 16GB RAM. Right now I have some 15 Firefox tabs, Thunderbird and a few smaller photography programs running, and it takes 12.1 GB RAM in Windows 10. The browsing tabs will probably eat up a lot of RAM regardless of OS.

I see what you mean, but thankfully it's just for some light duty jobs that I'll be working on.

Probably the heaviest work that I'll be doing will be some photoshop, illustrator, and Keynote - but I'm so old school (from very limited Power PC days) - that I quit off any other software that I don't currently use, nor hardly use any tabs on internet browsers haha.. (maybe 2-3 maximum?).

Also My main PC workstation at home has 64GB, so if I'm truly RAM starved, I think can always jump back, as long as it's not Mac specific software like Keynote.

Honestly for me, this Mac MIni is more of a toy and wanting to have some more seamless integration with my other apple devices that I have. I have this old 2009 MBP still running for that reason, and it just can't handle anything post 2015-ish! I've been sitting on buying a new Mac because for price - and got enticed with this new Mac Mini for it's tiny size and affordability + 16GB RAM.

I think this one will be a mean retro machine/htpc down the road for me... or would just trade in with a future Mac Mini in 4 years or so.

I bought an M2 a couple of years back for use as a Plex server and light emulation. The M2 is far more than I need for what I use it for, and yet I am really itching to pick up the M4. I can wait for the M7. ☺️

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Is it modded? Also I consider Saturn like Dreamcast, one of Sega best consoles. Really good purchase there 👀

Got these in the mail today

It has a switch for changing between 50hz and 60hz, but that's all. It's not modded in that way. Yet. :lollipop_content:

The Dreamcast will probably be the next console I get. Would love to play many of it's titles.

Have fun with thise games btw! TTYD is amazing, loved it back on the Cube.

Backed it as well!

Please make a review of it afterwards! And tag me in it! :)

well, I'm back from the trip and I can safely say don't buy it. at least not this brand. the voice recognition is not really good and the translation can be pretty bad. as in "I want to order ****" getting translate to "I want to command ****" type of things. it does have options to connect to ChatGPT and use their translation function but I didn't really try it out. the onboard instant translate function is the one I used mostly and honestly you'll be better off just using Google Translate on your phone instead. with the price of $80 I'm guessing I shouldn't be surprised. I've seen a few other ones that's more expensive, might give those a try next time and test them out first before the return day.

I went in with three of my other friends for a gift for another friend: Robot Spirits 'MA-08 BIG-ZAM' figurine. We watched Mobile Suit Gundam relatively recently and he couldn't get over how amazing/terrible this chicken-legged motherfucker looks. And it really does look ridiculous. Figurine itself looks fantastic though!

Despite what the other promotional photos might imply, the order does not come with a granddaddy Gundam. After a little research, it looks like the Robot Spirits figure (unsurprisingly). The effect parts it comes with - the backpack boosters and a curved beam saber in particular - are nice but the surface detail is very much lacking. I might take this opportunity to pick up Bandai's RG 2.0 for the good ol' RX-78-2 released a few months ago to take the opportunity to learn the tech advancements (as new RX-78-2 releases tend to be Bandai flexes of their R&D muscles).

The Big Zam figurine does come with a little Dozle figure with a machine gun you can have stand on Big Zam's shell though. Adorable.

I wouldn't normally spend $500 on a meme gift, so thankfully we're splitting the cost!

That's what makes it so goofy~ The Big Zam is a mobile armor designed exclusively for use in outer space. The legs are completely useless but are still so big and long compared to the rest of the frame and stand out even more because the designers figured out it wouldn't need any arms (although looking back at footage of the show apparently Big Zam can launch its toes as projectiles - neat). Incidentally, because Mobile Suit Gundam is a smart show, it makes a joke on this very topic only a few episodes later: 'We weren't able to finish the Zeong. Its legs aren't ready but hey we're in space anyway so what do you need them for?'
