I wish SFV just followed this model and not gone the free-to-earn character route, because it's looking like Capcom is going to be gouging on costume DLC. ($4 per outfit individually).
My long-time, and maybe only gripe with the KI model is having such a long grind to earn XP to unlock character colors. It was such a slog. However, it blew my mind SFV's costume color unlocking criteria made KI's seem reasonable.
agreed, KI rewards you with exp when the character is being used, and also since it has some microtransactions and free XP events, there are better chances on getting colors easily
What's funny is almost everything you said is true of KI.
How many people forget the shit launch? The shit UI, the 720p graphics, the 8 playable characters, the costumes locked behind grindy survival play, no story mode at all.
KI is the original SFV.
But KI has evolved into a solid overall package. The same will happen for SFV.
you didn't need to drop 60 USD to start it tho, you only need a free download to try
you want to only spend 5 bucks on a character, there is an option to it, you want to spend only 20 bucks on a season, there is an option, want some extras with your season throw 40 bucks and get Arcade releases on XB1 which can be played online too, want the whole 60 bucks game, totally an option now that we can call it a complete game
there is a whole difference on how they deal with pricing, is this game too incomplete, don't worry try it for free, throw us money until you decide is woth, KI gives more transparent options
