And how much is that on average?
Studios on average get 55% of the domestic box office, and about 40% of the overseas box office outside of China.

True jokes are funny by definitionI never tell jokes on GAF

I wonder if Warcraft just has a better preview turnout, or if everyone is off on Now You See Me

Deadline Weekend Estimates:
Conjuring 2 - $33-35M
Warcraft - $31M
NYSM2 - $24.5M
I feel Deadline may be overestimating Warcraft's weekend predictions a bit - solid weekend overall though if the above rings true

Some industry sources say it will need $450M before the Duncan Jones movie hits break-even.
Rough
It'll probably get there.
I'm sure he'll buy as many as he can afford.Planning on buying a lot of tickets?
It'll probably get there.
That's a stretch.
It's 5-10 years too late.
The trailers look like shit.
And the RT score is in the mid 20's.

China don't care
WARCRAFT earned est.¥216M ($32.9M) on Friday (-28% from Thursday), China's 3-day total stands at ¥815M ($124.2M)

Hopefully the generally positive word of mouth(from regular viewers) helps it outside of China. The numbers in China are awesome though
When we went to see it, we had all only heard good things outside of critics, it's rated 7.8 on user ratings at Imdb, and people are generally positive here on gaf. Those are all I'm able to base what I said on. Don't know how people feel elsewhere, but it seems to have good word of mouth.I thought the word is quite divided outside of GAF.
The movie is going to make more than half of that amount in China alone. It will get there.

Bronson speaking worldwide - he right, it'll it get there.

I think it will turn a small profit. Domestic will be probably be under $70M total, but it might do $400M+ internationally.
But the rumor says it needs 450M+ to get even. For a sequel, no idea.
The theaters get a cut.How does 450M to break even seem possible. Budget is 160M. There's no way they spent 290M on marketing.

I mean regular viewers including people who don't know anything about warcraft. I wouldn't call them hardcore fansIf by "regular viewers" you mean "hardcore Warcraft fans," then yes, it generally has positive word of mouth from them.
As I mentioned, Deadline over-predicted Warcraft. New estimates are in with:
1). Conjuring 2 (WB/NL), 3,343 theaters / $16M Fri. (includes $3.4M previews) / 3-day cume: $37.1M/Wk 1
2). Warcraft (UNI/LEG), 3,400 theaters / $11M Fri. (includes $3.1M previews) / 3-day cume: $26.4M/Wk 1
3). Now You See Me 2 (LG), 3,232 theaters / $8M Fri. (includes $1.75M previews) / 3-day cume: $22.3M/Wk 1
Personally think NYSM2 may come in higher and Warcraft lower again (Deadline predicting a $500k decline from Saturday to Sunday for Warcraft - it don't make sense)

Tracking seemed a bit all over the place for Warcraft, but with it dipping as low as $20m, $26m doesn't seem too bad. But it's going to crater like crazy after this weekend.
Gonna go so see it tomorrow night. Never played the game, but there haven't been any movies I've been interested in the past few weeks, and I'm okay with a big dumb action movie.
In unrelated yet relevant news, rabbits give no fucks about gravity.
Zero. Fucks.
Conjuring 2's budget is $40 million. James Wan stays winning.
At some point this last week, The Force Awakens finally lost its last screen.
Final total: $936,662,225
