This is great! I don't think I'll like this game - I do NOT like Japanese RPGs but everyone always raves about it so it's definitely worth giving it a shot since it costs nothing to try it. Hopefully I'll like it as much as everyone else. Besides there have been SOOOOO many games I thought I wouldn't like and I ended up loving them thanks to GP.

I hardly buy games anymore with just a few exceptions. I almost bought A Plague Tale when it was on sale because I really want to play it, but thankfully I waited & it showed up on GP a couple of weeks later.
The only games I'm buying in the foreseeable future are physical copies of Halo: infinite, pre-ordering the second it's available, Ori WotW Definitive, Hellblade 2 and Cyberpunk even though all but one of those games are day 1 on Game Pass I need to OWN those games. Anything else, I'll wait for GP.

Change your controls before you start. The default setup is not conducive to the Xbox controller. Check out some recommended configs online.
My fav part of the game is that it feels like it is frequently shifting genres. It goes from shmup to hack and slash to twin stick shooter and back.

Thanks for the advice. I have too many other games to play before I get to Nier, but I will keep it in mind when I get around to it.

Yeah, I had previously done the cheap upgrade of standard live to Ultimate, with loads of time left. It expired and then I got a year of standard live from CDkeys. I then done the upgrade through MS but the difference this time was that instead of a pound, it was £10.99 one off.

I've got a ton of rewards points, so I'm going to try getting 2 years of gold from there and then paying for the upgrade. Did you do it right on your xbox or through Xbox.com?

That sounds like a driver or hardware issue then. You'll probably need to do some searching to see if anyone else has had the problem and see if there's a solution.

Don't sleep on Gato Roboto, I played it a while back on my Switch and absolutely loved it. In fact, I might play through it again now that it's on Game Pass.
It's a rather short MetroidVania, but that just means the game is constantly throwing you new upgrades and things without too much backtracking to move forward. Highly recommended!
EDIT: the game can be comfortably finished in around 3-4 hours.

Took your advice, would have never tried it otherwise because platformers aren't my jam but damn if it isn't fun.
The difficulty seems just right, quirky characters and mechanics.
It's why I love gamepass, the ability to play a TON of cool different games that you might have overlooked if you were required to buy them.

Never. When that game first came out EVERY single person was into it and loved it. THen all of a sudden people turned on it, I have no clue why. You could literally just go hunting for 20 hours and never even do the story, the game is so amazingly made. I am not talking about anything story related, strictly gameplay.
