Jokes aside, I've always thought the social side being optional was a poor defense.

If you want to hobble the designers' intended vision, and play literally half a game, with that half of the game being a watered down FE on top of it, you can.

I would argue that's actually worse than all the bottom-of-the-barrel pandering, because you're taking something that was designed to function as a whole and splitting it in two.

Best to play the game as that whole, or to not.

The "social" side isn't a otome game outside the stupid tea time. This one doesn't even let you get ppl pregnant like Genealogy either. (cause u don't die lol)

I didn't really mind the game as I stated before. It's one of the switch games I've actually finished.

The timeskip I thought was cool. The battles were a lot of fun especially playing on some of the harder modes. My problem with the game was the repetition. Okay put that stuff in there but make it meaningful and fun I guess. Not just running around picking up peoples shit after them. The graphics were serviceable on the characters but the environments and backgrounds were atrocious. Maybe im not too hard on it because it was my first FE?

I don't know it was enough for me to go through one path and say okay I enjoyed my time with this game but I didn't ever feel a need to go back and play the DLC or another path.

It was my least favorite way to spend activity points but once I realized how useful it was for raising certain stats I just referenced a guide online to never get wrong answers.

I much preferred the story and characters in DE. XC2 had the better battle system and QOL improvements. They are only loosely connected.
